I'm a professional writer and speaker, and Crickhollow Books just published my new The I Love to Write Book: Ideas and Tips for Young Writers. It is aimed at students in grades 4th through 8th (but also appeals to high schoolers) and is intended for the students to read themselves. It also contains lots of activities suitable for classroom use. I founded and facilitate a summer young writers camp in Kansas City, and many of those students are in gifted programs in their schools. I'm looking for a way to reach gifted teachers in your state to tell them about this new resource for kids interested in writing.
Do you have a newsletter that that reaches gifted teachers? If so, would you consider reviewing the book? Please provide your mailing address, and Ill be sure you get a review copy.
The book is available at Borders, Barnes and Noble, and at www.Amazon.com and through the publisher.

An extremely well-done guide. The book offers practical advice for writers. Heck, even an adult would benefit from this clear, straightforward guide. BookLoons Reviews
"A most welcome source for educators and children both inspiring and practical. Her enthusiasm for teaching young people to write will grab the attention of teachers, librarians, and kids themselves. Teachers need her straightfoward text. Librarians can recommend it whole-heartedly to the public. And kids will grow in their writing skills enthusiastically. Buy two copies! One for yourself, and one to share!" Jan Irving, author of Stories NeverEnding (2004) and Stories, Time and Again (2005), respected consultant in the field of children's literature and library services to children

Higher Level Questioning The books, Suppose The Octopus Were a Wolf (there are different grade levels), offer questioning ideas based on Bloom's Taxonomy for a large list of books used in the classroom. They are a quick way for a teacher to take one book and differentiate the questioning without adding extra work to their lesson planning time.
