The Pot Luck Doubles has been withdrwan from this years event, due to time constrants and the fact that last year players dropped out on the day of the event and some only a couple of hours before the start, which meant many players were left without partners and then you need to re-draw the whole event and schedule the matches, hence not being played this year, sorry

The tournament info page mentions a Pot Luck Doubles event but no mention of it on the entry form...

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all concerned with the champs, and in particular Jimmy Farrow for inviting me! My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and it was great to see so many old friends. The standard of TT was really high, and a special well done to 'old guy' Andy Warner who seemed to be playing non stop all day long and still had the energy to provide great entertainment in two really tough finals.
I can see that rumours of the demise of table tennis in Ipswich are greatly exaggerated!

All match time cards will be posted or e-mailed today, if you don't receive anything by Monday please let me know.

Please be aware that the Handicap Singles on Saturday starts at 16.20 and the likely finishing time for the finalists are about 19.30-20.00.

Hi All. Just wanted to follow up on my post below. I've only heard since from one volunteer to help us set up on the Friday night (thanks Gary) so if anyone else is able to spare us some time we would be so grateful to hear from you.

Also I'm still keen to hear from anyone who thinks they can offer a non-TT and non-alcoholic raffle prize for the draw.

Thanks. Richard

The IDTTL championships are now only a month and a half away. The organisation is progressing well and entry numbers have been really encouraging at approaching the 100 mark. For anyone who hasn’t entered yet, please don’t assume you are now too late – just contact Jimmy and if we can fit you in then we will. This would be particularly good if you play in Divisions 2 or 3 where we have the lowest entry numbers.

There are a few areas on which I wanted to contact our league players, to ask for your help please.

- Posters – we are looking for as much advertising as possible and have a number of A4 posters available. If you could arrange for one or more of these to be displayed, say at a place of work or maybe a social venue, please contact me and I will arrange for some to be sent to you.

- Advertising IDTTL and Britannia – we have use of the Robert Cross Hall, beneath the Main Hall, for the duration of the event. We are hoping members of the public will pop in so we want to set up some information on the IDTTL and also Britannia TT Club, to encourage new players. Phoenix and the new Kesgrave clubs will also be represented. We need some volunteers to face this up to the public, i.e. answering questions and trying to encourage them to get involved – if you would be willing to do this for a few hours, please can you let me know.

- We need some strong armed volunteers to help set up and down the equipment. Tables will be delivered to the Corn Exchange around 4pm on the Friday evening (20th March) and if anyone can spare us an hour or two of their time to help get these up into the main hall and set up, it would be a huge help. The same applies for the following Monday morning, when we will need to get the tables put away and ready for collection. We really do need your help with this so if you can assist with one or both days, please can you let me know.

- Raffle – there will be a prize draw during the finals night, with tickets being sold throughout the event. We have 5 table tennis related prizes but now need some non-TT prizes. If you are able to donate anything (non-alcoholic I’m afraid) which would make a great draw prize, we would be really grateful – please contact me if you can offer anything.

Thanks for listening.

Richard

Hi again Jim, when I saw you the other night I said I had the ladies singles trophy in my possession, I was mistaken it's the ladies doubles trophy. As for the others I'll drop them off to you, I'm bound to be in or around Stow in the next few days if not I'll pop them round your house during the week.

Thanks

Jim, I've found a couple more trophies hidden in my cupboard! They are the Junior girls singles and the Cadet boys singles as these weren't played last year. I also have about 50 Stiga optimum balls, eight clipboards, pens and quite a few individual score sheets, hopefully they'll be of some use to you.
