Hey! We're signed on! Dave and I aren't really interested in getting certified for scuba diving. We just want the leisurely pace of snorkeling, and truth be told, I'm still a little freaked out by being in the water to begin with...Also,we're wondering how you think the actual cost would work out (with day trips snorkeling and all the other expenses of eating out...) compared to a cheap cruise (I know the prices go down substantially in August through the Fall)? We're not against the Keys idea, we're just wondering if the pricing might work out so that everyone would be entertained (including non snorkelers : ))

Okay, I've been online an obscene amount of time today...Can I just say - Caye Caulker - Belize - Yeah Baby, this may be my ultimate dream destination...I know airfare will be the challenge, but check it out - http://www.cayecaulkerbelize.net/...I'm seriously in love. Very small island, great snorkeling, no vehicles (bikes and golf carts) - day trip to the Mayan Ruins...possibly Manatees : ) 20 minute walk from one side of the island to the other, did I mention Manatees... |

I dunno... let's look into that! I'm all for the most fun (for all) at the least cost.
Don't any of us have a rich uncle who owns a beach house in Belize?

http://www.cayecaulkerbelize.net/Looks perfect. I haven't found a decent way to get there by air yet that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Do you have an idea for transport?

No, I haven't found decent airfare, but I'll keep looking. I didn't necessarily mean for the trip you're planning...just that it sounds wonderful, and someday I'd love to go. It just seems so perfect. I can't believe how much flying costs to Belize City. So many destinations, so little time/money!
