Hi Marcus,
Your Eaglehawk Neck website looks very thorough. My only comment for free activities is that you could add Hang gliding to that list. One of the photos looks like it has been taken practically from the launch site. You probably know that I also have a website - tasmanpeninsula.com.au. Till now I haven't started a links page but it would be beneficial for me to be linking to other relevant sites such as yours and vice versa. Thanks, Chris

Thanks for finding the email address Denis. Paul, we hope you have a great stay on the Peninsula and the car shuffle works out. The walks are fantastic and don't forget to come by Saltwater River to see beautiful Lime Bay and the Historic Coal Mines Site (free entry) just 5 minutes past our B&B - The Saltwater River Convict Beach House. Cheers Chris.

After learning from your site and others about the book 'Peninsula Tracks' by Peter and Shirley Storey, I've been trying hard to find our where to get a copy. Can you put me in contact with suppliers where I can place a mail/web order for the book?

Christine, I plan to do the coast walk in Tasman National Park next February. I would like to walk from Waterfall Bay to Cape Pillar and back to Fortescue Bay.
I will have a hire car, and would like to pay someone to drive me in my car to Waterfall, then take the car and leave it at Fortescue Bay where I can pick it up a few days later. This is common practice in New Zealand and works well.
Can you suggest someone who may help?

SEALIFE ARE TAKING DELIVERY OF THEIR NEW VESSEL - "ATTITUDE" - ready for the 2009/10 Season.

Craig and staff will be taking the new Naiad boat out on its first public cruise on 1 November. The 14 metre vessel is only one part of a large investment the new owners of Sealife will be making. A major marketing campaign is being organised to promote the new vessel which will also benefit our region. There will be no change of staff with Craig and all the existing crew staying on to manage the business. http://www.sealife.com.au

Yes I agree motivated, energetic and engaged people are needed to produce interest in any locality and that these same people should be addressing these issues.

I have seen a number of businesses rely firstly on the over exagerated statistics from the Department of Tourism or wait for the same department to implement changes only to find themselves struggling to realise their investment. So looking for support from the Council of Tourism would seem like an exercise in futility to me.

From a proffesional stand point I would beg to differ that the Tasman Peninsula Website is unique and rather that it suffers from the same problem of many such ventures. Lack of daily dynamic content and engaging up-to-date material. Such material I think must come from those involved in the activities on the TP. Some first hand accounts and images from recent bushwalks taken on the Tasman Peninsula, latest sessions info from Tasman Peninsula Surfers on Shipsterns Bluff or dive expedition by the local divers, reviews of local Restaurant Cafe's current menu's, what fish are running for those interested in a fishing trip etc. I don't feel that a re-hash of texts from other websites or tourist information, links to Parks and Wildlife constitutes quality information.

Gathering and making this type of information available on-line is a full-time job and not an easy one at that and requires a broad and inclusive involvement. As an example it would now be rather difficult to obtain information from the serious bushwalking community when many stakeholders on the Tasman Peninsula made it clear they supported the Three Capes Walk which would lock out those whom have been walking these tracks for many years and sell the asset off to some commercial venture.
