I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this tape!!! It is so versatile. The tape can be adapted to be used in almost any lesson. The students love the many bright different colors. It really helps the student focus on the text. In Primary grades I have used the tape to highlight the letter of the week, find high frequency words, word chunks, punctuation, etc. Sometimes I have the words already highlighted in a Big Book or on a poster, other times I let the students cover the words when they find them. Sometimes the students work in pairs or groups and I give a different color tape to each pair or group so they can identify their part of the book or project. Upper grade students love to use the tape to highlight vocabulary words in a selection. They can identify parts of speech, prefixes, suffixes, synonyms, antonyms, and peer editing. It can also be used for main idea and details, compare and contrast, cause and effect. Do you get the idea? Highlighter Tape is a must have for any teacher or specialist.
