Hi all-- also have room for 1 more runner looking for a ride down. We're figuring to finish somewhere around 1:30 to 1:45, so if you predict you'll be in that range and need a lift, give me a shout:

Good luck training!

I have a room with two beds reserved at the Eagle Mountain house if anyone is still without a reservation and doesn't mind bunking with a newbie stranger from Western NY.

How are the preparations for all of you going? I've been working more hills into my runs and I have also done several extended sessions on the treadmill at 12%. At this point I am just acclimating myself to the grade without any attempt at speed. I'm setting it at 3.4 MPH right, now but was able to get 3 miles at my last crack without exceeding my zone 3 HR, so I will take that as a success. I'll add another half mile next week. Right now I should be able to make it almost half way up the mountain :)

I am looking for a ride down. If anyone has room please email me at sbanks@davis-standard.com. In reference to Buck post 82. I decided to hike down after my first MWRR. HUGE mistake. I felt great until about half-way down. My legs started to cramp up and the rest of the way was total misery. I ruined what should have been a great day.

Sure shows what I know. I'm following the ignorance is bliss ideology as the farthest north I have been that direction is NYC! A ride down would be great however. Anyone looking for riders feel free to contact me at huck94@bellsouth.net

/m85 Not sure the Cog would be the greatest choice for a way down -- not only is it pretty pricey for tix, but I think the railway takes you to the complete opposite side of the mountain (someone please correct me if I'm wrong!); so logistically I think you'd need to leave a car at the railway lot and get a lift to the race start (which i don't think is a quick trip!). Seems like it might be easier to try and find lift down than arrange that... (man, it might even be easier just to hoof it back down the auto road than arrange that!)

Hello,

I'm looking for a ride down the mountain, this is of course assuming I can make it to the top. This is my first MWRR, but I hope to finish under 2 hours.
I will be traveling from Maine that morning.

I can be reached at cjgott@suscom-maine.net

Thanks, Jim
