Good luck everyone! I'm getting ready for the long drive up to Jackson this afternoon. Very exciting and what an accomplishment to get to the top of the mountain. Kind of scared of the "hill", but with a pack of 800 runners around me I know that I will find the support to finish the race. Gotta get me one of those bumper stickers when I'm up in Hampshire!

I had a last minute cancellation, thus have room for one runner down the mountain. If interested, please drop me a note at akofira@yahoo.com. Please include your cell phone number, as well. I am looking to finish around 2 hours. Thanks.

A chance to ride with one of the good guys. Very much enjoyed the article today in the Portland paper. Best of luck to you and those who you are doing this for.

Hi everyone, I have seats for two runners!! Float me an email message and we can coordinate the link up. I'll be finishing around 2:00, so if you're faster, you can hang out in a warm Four Runner until I get there...jackmosher@gmail.com

I have raced this race only once - last year - but have been a trail/moutain runner for decades. I really think shorts and a singlet are all that is needed on race day unless the temps fall into the 30's. The heat one generates by running as hard as possible uphill for well over an hour (or two) would more than offset rain, cool temps, and wind. However, as soon as one finishes having access to warm, dry clothes, fluid, and rapidly digestible food is important. Just my two cents. Good luck to everyone.

I was thinking about carrying a nylon windbreaker in a light fanny pack.
Maybe not needed ? I'm a "clydsdale" so I can generate lots-o-heat....

This will be my 21st race since 1979. In only one year have I worn more than shorts and a singlet. That was in a pouring rain and I wore a poly t-shirt. I find that I generate so much heat on the uphill that I am comfortable until I stop. You then want to have ready access to your bag with extra clothing. I generally head into the visitor's center and go to the restroom and put on dry clothes.

I'm a first timer....... the website mentions that there will be an informative talk about the race Friday night at the Eagle Mountain House in Jackson, where they will give us novice runners advice on how to run the hill. My plan is to bring a lot of different type of running gear and then make the final selection based upon the info learned at the presentation and my own gut feeling when I wake up Saturday morning. Keeping the head and hands warm is my plan.

Hi Any vets have any clothing advice for the race on Sat. The weather looks to be rough and while this will be my 4th time up, this will be my first in less then ideal weather.
Any suggestions for proper dress code would be appreciated.
Thanks
