Yup - I set the TM at 14% and go. See how long I can hold on at 5 mph then shift down to a pwr walk at 3.5

Chris, I'm running normal outdoor miles 4 days, about 25 - 30 per week with some light hills, plus twice a week grinders at 13% on the TM. I did 68 mins Monday and 75 mins yesterday. I agree that speedwork seems somewhat pointless when I'll be lucky to hold a 14 or 15 minute pace. Currently training at 3.6MPH on the TM, and not expecting to increase my TM speed before the race. Running high 8 to low 9 pace outside. Looking forward to meeting some of you at the race.

What are your ideas on a training plan?
I've been doing a 3 week cycle of 1 = 40 minute 14% grind on treadmill, 2 = Find a 200M hill and run up and down it for 40 minutes and 3 = Find some other hill to run up-up-up. I'm a veteran of the mt goat series last year - so I realize that speed work, hill charges and other standard fair are fairly useless for the long grind. What are you guys/gals doing for specificity?
C-,
