I am researching H.S.Language Arts curriculum and I am surprised to find the ability to critique multi-media is one of the standards for improving written and spoken language. Multi-media is no longer a tool for learning but seems to be an integrated part of curriculum. There is also (in theory) a very strong emphasis on the role of the well stocked library media center in the school, and on the importance of the library media teacher's role as support for both the teacher and student. I hope this role is one that continues to become more important and does not suffer from budjet cuts :(
