Yes, it's sad, but true! I've crunched some calcium bits and pieces and picked up an extensive case of road rash. Thanks for the mention Derek and hope to be along to the hardriders to do some marshalling if the Bone Dr lets me out. PS Learning Point: Don't follow unknown rider's wheel who might stick their brakes on, down a hill on a straight bit of road....
PPS Whatever format we go for, I'll be needing a new club top. Mine looks like a string vest now. Bah!!

Just in case you haven't heard, Alan Green has broken his collar bone whilst riding the Cotswolds sportive, weekend before last. Tough events these sportives. Alan, get well soon and all being well you'll be competing again well before the end of the season.

Good to here that Bo is still riding.
Sorry to be pedantic, but the font on the strip is very old fashioned and closer to Bold Times Roman although not exactly the same!
Last time around I liked Dave F's ideas for the club strip - simple/visible/attractive, although I think I voted for Bo. If we do decide to change the design visibility must one of the main priorities, we should also aim for it to be the better than the other local clubs, to encourage new members to want to ride with us.
Good luck at the weekend!

Saw Bo on his bike today looking resplendent in his DRC kit,Funny how he hasn't raced in years but still looks good on a bike. Perhaps a 50vet comeback is on the way.

Denis, you won't offend him - it was Bohdan who is no longer in the club and probably therefore doesn't care.

Chaps, ref the comments about changing the kit I also think it could do with a redesign. I've always thought the typewriter font (courier?) used for the lettering a bit strange!

Do the companies that produce the kit offer an artwork service where they can suggest some designs?

No offence intended to whoever thought up the current design!

------------------INTERCLUB EVENT Wednesday 4th June ----------------------
From the DRC website which is in the public domain
The annual interclub "10" with Gloucester City CC, Severn RC and Bristol South CC will be held next Wednesday June 4th on the usual Newport Towers course ( U7B) .
Please turn up early to ensure a ride and let's give the larger clubs a run for their money!
Let's have a good turnout - our usual Thursday "10" will NOT be held on the following evening.

Basically the points system has been set up so as to encourage all riders, including very slow ones, to ride. This is a great idea in principle but clearly favours the larger clubs. In fact, had our 10 riders in last year's event finished in the top 10 places, we still wouldn't have won!

Dave, I admit that I did go with the majority at the time but I was never happy with the false 6-pack. I agree that the colours are good for safety.
Perhaps we could have a vote on it at the end of season meeting when most of the active club members are together. I'm not sure how many of them are able to view this forum.

If you'd have voted for the design which I proposed last time round, you wouldn't be having this (particular) debate !
Compared with most designs at least ours keeps you a bit safer!

Brendan, the comical bit I refer to is the 6-pack painted on the front or is yours real? 8-)I also don't like the feathery bit on the legs and the large blank area on the back.
I have 2 skinsuits and 1 road jersey. Changing the design doesn't mean the current kit cannot be used. It just means that next time you order new kit it will be different to what you currently have. I like the red/white/green colours so I wouldn't propose to change that. And until quite recently I was using the 'old' design as well as the current.
Dave R has also expressed a wish to change the design - it's not just my desire.
   Anyone else got an opinion?

I still consider the new kit to be NEW! And as I have a skinsuit, bib shorts and road vest, I would be very reluctant to change kit again in the near future. Also please can I have more info on what is comical and quirky?

As the club kit is topical, maybe this is a good moment to mention that I've had a problem with my skin suit that requires sending it back - The insert hasn't been stitched in properly and is leaving a wheal on my ar*e! Imp sport were OK about it, except wanting a fiver for return postage, which I thought was a bit of a cheek as it's under a year old!

Anyone else had problems - maybe it's me....

A nice fluorescent pink kit would neither be gimmicky or comical. You would certainly get noticed at races and who knows Dynorod might want to sponsor you.
My disc and tt bike are now sold if there is any rider who wants a current skinsuit (used)that fits a larger belly they can have mine for free.I might even wash it for them !!
I also have a damaged briko aero helmet that stinks this is also going for nothing it still does the job as a helmet or an excellent mosquito repellent.
I will be a club 10's should anybody want them

Personally, I think that even though the current club kit is more up to date than the previous design, there are features on it that I think are gimmicky/comical. Increasingly, we are photographed during races and I always feel let down by the way the kit looks on the photo. I'm not suggesting we change the colours and I have some ideas about the design. How would you feel about the club kit changing?
