Chaps, ref the comments about changing the kit I also think it could do with a redesign. I've always thought the typewriter font (courier?) used for the lettering a bit strange!
Do the companies that produce the kit offer an artwork service where they can suggest some designs? No offence intended to whoever thought up the current design!

------------------INTERCLUB EVENT Wednesday 4th June ---------------------- From the DRC website which is in the public domain The annual interclub "10" with Gloucester City CC, Severn RC and Bristol South CC will be held next Wednesday June 4th on the usual Newport Towers course ( U7B) . Please turn up early to ensure a ride and let's give the larger clubs a run for their money! Let's have a good turnout - our usual Thursday "10" will NOT be held on the following evening.
Basically the points system has been set up so as to encourage all riders, including very slow ones, to ride. This is a great idea in principle but clearly favours the larger clubs. In fact, had our 10 riders in last year's event finished in the top 10 places, we still wouldn't have won!

Dave, I admit that I did go with the majority at the time but I was never happy with the false 6-pack. I agree that the colours are good for safety. Perhaps we could have a vote on it at the end of season meeting when most of the active club members are together. I'm not sure how many of them are able to view this forum.

If you'd have voted for the design which I proposed last time round, you wouldn't be having this (particular) debate ! Compared with most designs at least ours keeps you a bit safer!

Brendan, the comical bit I refer to is the 6-pack painted on the front or is yours real? 8-)I also don't like the feathery bit on the legs and the large blank area on the back. I have 2 skinsuits and 1 road jersey. Changing the design doesn't mean the current kit cannot be used. It just means that next time you order new kit it will be different to what you currently have. I like the red/white/green colours so I wouldn't propose to change that. And until quite recently I was using the 'old' design as well as the current. Dave R has also expressed a wish to change the design - it's not just my desire. Anyone else got an opinion?

I still consider the new kit to be NEW! And as I have a skinsuit, bib shorts and road vest, I would be very reluctant to change kit again in the near future. Also please can I have more info on what is comical and quirky?

As the club kit is topical, maybe this is a good moment to mention that I've had a problem with my skin suit that requires sending it back - The insert hasn't been stitched in properly and is leaving a wheal on my ar*e! Imp sport were OK about it, except wanting a fiver for return postage, which I thought was a bit of a cheek as it's under a year old!
Anyone else had problems - maybe it's me....

A nice fluorescent pink kit would neither be gimmicky or comical. You would certainly get noticed at races and who knows Dynorod might want to sponsor you. My disc and tt bike are now sold if there is any rider who wants a current skinsuit (used)that fits a larger belly they can have mine for free.I might even wash it for them !! I also have a damaged briko aero helmet that stinks this is also going for nothing it still does the job as a helmet or an excellent mosquito repellent. I will be a club 10's should anybody want them

Personally, I think that even though the current club kit is more up to date than the previous design, there are features on it that I think are gimmicky/comical. Increasingly, we are photographed during races and I always feel let down by the way the kit looks on the photo. I'm not suggesting we change the colours and I have some ideas about the design. How would you feel about the club kit changing?

Hi i have to retire from racing "unfortunately" So the kit has to go. I have a brand new Renn 575 disc with a 10sp dura ace 11-23 cassette this has only done 34 miles i am selling for £300 with a worn veloflex pave. I will be at the club tt's in my car with disc if anyone wants to view.
If anyone wants to ride tandem i can still steer and brake and provide loads of ballast downhill, just dont ask me to pedal Osteoarthritis in both knees is a bugger and bloody painful.

Congratulations to all of you. You had a dream day on a superb course. I'm gutted I didn't ride there today (saving myself for tomorrow) and preying that I get that fortune in the remaining events there. I think Dave R exactly matched his PB didn't he?

... a week later, same time, same place. This time the Corinium 10 on U47 - and this time there's no wind!! Three Dursley riders in the 80-limit field - and superfast times by all with a very competitive team performance. Dave Rudland is close to the Club record on his new fixed machine on 114ins: 20-24. Stu Berryman coming back to past form: 21-35. ... and me? this time I ride all the way out to the start - 22 miles - and ride my second-fastest ever time trial: 22-29, a massive PB on vets standard of plus 7-19. (PS: interesting to reflect that 45 years ago I did 25-03 with a top gear of about 90in at the age of 15 whilst today I rolled 54x11 all the way round apart from the start & turn !!) (PPS: hope the slightly revised course isn't short!!)

Not to be left out I thought I'd join the 10 mile club. I rode the Port Talbot Whls event on Sat. On what should be the fast R10/22 course. However, strong cross wind and hail on the way out, which turned into a full on head wind for the return put paid to any thoughts of a PB. My time was 25.19, not very fast but a full 1.5 mins on my best this year. Keep it up Dave you seem to be flying.

Bath 10, continued ... looking at the results I see that Stu Berryman also rode from DRC and recorded 22-48. Clearly it was a fast day with a high quality field. The flying winner in 19-23 - John Tuckett - looks like a rider to look out for in the Nationals, especially as he recorded 49-06 for a win on the H25/2 the following morning!

Couple of open 10 results: Oxford City 10 (26/4/08; in a strong southerly wind - but the right direction for this recommended h10/17R course just west of Oxford on the A420): I did 23-58 (first over-60 of several); fastest Peter Kench 21-05. Bath CC 10 (3/5/08; on the U47 with another southerly wind, but on what was a good day): 23-13 (a PB on standard, but in a full field a few Over 60s were ahead of me). Derek did 21-09.
