Dear Fellow Alumnis: During the past two years, with God’s grace and guidance to the committed leadership from different batches who faithfully shared their time and resources, and inspite of the many challenges along the way, much has been accomplished to move forward of the goal of establishing an Alumni Association, the umbrella organization of all Alumnis at AFPSEM-CGEAHS. Taking note of Leadership to be the most important element in success of any organization, a Homecoming was scheduled this December 11th and 12th, the first Alumni coordinated Homecoming, to elect a new set of leadership that we All look forward, hopefully bring bright and new ideas and direct new alumni movement.
However, to be able to hold this important event and also to fund certain school projects that we are working with the school Principal, additional resources are needed. With that, the current Board of Directors planned two (2) social events namely (a) Bingo Social on Oct 30 and (b) Ballroom Dancing on Nov 5.
On behalf of the Board to address these plans. I would like to take this opportunity to inform ALL Alumnis with the adjustments:
1. Bingo Social. This will be rescheduled on November 20, 2010 vice Oct 30: It appears that a number of factors seem to be contributing to the slow response in participating with this Alumni social event at this time. One is the TIMING (i, e... our failure to consider the upcoming UNDAS) and another reason likely is our failure to anticipate batches earlier scheduled planned activities or priorities thereby maybe affecting motivations. Not to be discounted, also the current trend of economics affecting many both here and abroad is also creeping in the minds of many. But we are always hopeful and prayerful that it will be a success. This will test the true character of many us, the foundation and early life of the Association.
With a P100T objective to be raised in this event (50% goes for the Alumni funds and 50% for operational and holding the event). As of this date, P26T has been established as sold so far. We are grateful that two (2) batches have committed the encouraged P10T per batch and a number of batches also have projected varying amount of contribution for this cause. With this date adjustment, we will have more time to reach out ALL. Bingo cards will continue to be sold. Game rules has been establisheds. There are (ten (10) different colors, but the blackout color will be announced during the game.
