Cheers Ting think I,ve got you sussed now and Stewart your uncle was my first platoon commander in B Coy Kirknewton early 1973 as we were short of officers he was a seargent then and went onto become my Company Seargent Major in Osnabruck in the 1970,s Wool the Bull as he was sometimes known was a very fit soldier who would do a lot of shouting at you if you were out of line but his bark was worse than his bite and I always found him to be a very fair guy all round and instead of a visit in front of the Company Commander Wooly would give you a "clip roon the ear" all in all I was sorry when I heard he passed away as I have many fond memories of him.

Sid.

Sid McEwan - i was in the bn from 65 until 79 - mainly in HQ coy and was also in Balaklava coy - I ran the clothing store in Osnabruck and handed it over just before I left in Catterick. You can find me on Alan Youngs Argylls history site 2 or 3 times.
Stewart Spence - you can also check that site for information about your uncle - it is the second one on the list above - make sure you check both parts because of the dates. I knew your uncle well and we both served in Balaklava coy - he was also with B coy so you should be able to find him
