Kind of a strange week. We lost a drummer in the local country scene as well. I'd never given Michael Jackson much thought, and we all knew about Farah and her failing health lately, but I was affected much more than I would have expected -- as they were definitely icons of my youth. Hard to believe that goddess from the poster was 62, and we're all closing in fast ! On another note. If you can't get out for some local rock this weekend, at least watch this. I think it's worth it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3gp7B8WC4Qah e ah e ah ------------------ wah wah wah.......

hey everyone! just wanted to weigh in on Jackson's passing i just found out late last night I must have been living under rock or something.
As an aspiring musician singer/songwriter mostly doing the rock and metal style am in no way ashamed to say that he was an influence on my music. I remember a road trip I took with my family and I had a Sony Walkman tape player and the only tape I had was Thriller. So i listened to it over and over again. I gained an appreciation for his talent. I was not a fan of his lifestyle in his later years with how he altered his appearance and the controversy surrounding young children but was able to set that aside and still enjoy the music he made. show me any of our iconic musicians of today that don't have some weird quirky hangups that seem to go hand in hand with being in the public spotlight on a global scale. sad to say but we will never see an icon such as he in our lifetimes. I hope that he can find peace in the next life and his music lives on in his fans.
I hope everybody has a great weekend and is enjoying their summer while out supporting the local scene. Be on the look out for Osiris in the latter months in to the fall we will be recording a new cd so wish us luck!!
SHAMONE!!! Today is a new day so you got to be starting something. what ever you do or create in your lives make it a thriller!!!

Ok...so Farah Fawcett and michael jackson both died today! Im seriously in shock over the Michael Jackson thing. He was seriously an amazing performer in his day! And before I became metal mama...i truely loved him! yes I had the posters and knew the "Thriller" dance step for step in dance class. what a crazy day. At least poor Farah isn't suffering anymore with cancer. She was a sexy, classy lady! Im sure all you boys all had "that" poster. CRAZY!

Hey Cherry, I agree. Most of us musicians and local fans know we could go to any club without too much hassle.
I've always wondered how many of the non-musician/non-go out and see local bands all the time, people have been put off by the whole "private club" deal. I'm hoping we do see an increase in bar traffic starting in July.
I don't expect a miracle, but any increase over the crowds lately would be appreciated.
