Baptism of Jesus

 

To spread the gospel of the water (Jesus' baptism) and the Spirit that enables people to solve their problem of sin based on the pure Word of God revealed in the Bible, it must be done in various languages.

Although there are many Christians today, we see that many of them in fact only attend church on Sundays, and no clear standard and Word of salvation is found in their hearts. But Jesus said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God" (John 3:5).

What is being born again here? Being born again is not just quitting one's sinful life and beginning a new life after believing in Jesus, as most people think. Though this would be good, this in itself is not being born again, nor being saved. When the Bible tells us that we must be born again of water and the Spirit, it means that "sinners must repent, believe in the baptism of Jesus and the blood of the Cross, and thereby receive the remission of sin into their hearts and become righteous." In other words, it means being born from above. This is not a change that comes from human beings, but it is a transformation that comes from God.

In 1 John 5:6-7, the Bible says, "This is He who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one." Jesus came to this earth by water and blood. Jesus was born of the body of the Virgin Mary incarnated into the flesh of a man, and when He turned 30, He was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. The works of salvation that make us be born again of water and the Spirit began with the birth of Jesus, and as He washed away the sins of the world by receiving His baptism from John the Baptist, the representative of humanity, in the Jordan River.

We know very well that Jesus was vicariously condemned in our place by shedding His blood on the Cross. But why did Jesus, God Himself who was sinless, have to bear this condemnation on the Cross? There are causes and effects in all things. That Jesus died on the Cross for our sins is very closely related to the event of His baptism, when He was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, which was a form of the laying on of hands. The Apostle Peter said in 1 Peter 3:21 that baptism is an antitype that saves us. This then means that Jesus came by baptism and the Cross.

In the baptism of Jesus is hidden the mystery of the remission of sin, the mystery of being born of water and the Spirit. If, in spite of this, we were to ignore this baptism of Jesus and do not believe in it, then we ourselves would be betraying the will of God and forsaking our own salvation.  To provide a clear explanation of the standard of salvation by grounding it in thorough and solid Biblical foundations, and to address the basic concepts of salvation as to how one can be born again of water and the Spirit it must be done in various languages. The Doctrine of Repentance

Greetings in the name of The Holy Trinity.

Today (30.10.2007) I would like to share a review on, “The Doctrine of Repentance, sermons from Galatians 4-6 Chapter shared by Rev. Paul C. Jong.

In Galatians Apostle Paul clearly sermons on the importance of Law that God gave to Humankind through Moses. And the mistaken belief of Circumcisionists on demanding the Physical Circumcision from the born again saints of Galatians Church which is equal to nowadays demand for prayer of repentance without believing in the perfect salvation of being born again of water & spirit.

Gal 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
Gal 4:2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
Gal 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Gal 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
Gal 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Law of God is our school teacher or tutor who led to our Saviour Jesus Christ where human can be saved from their sins and eternal destruction by faith and the grace & mercy of God in Lord Jesus Christ (The Gospel of Water & Spirit).

But what we behold in Galatians Church were that they have lost their faith in the words of God (The Gospel of Christ: Water & Spirit) and they were deceived with Jews Christians who felt superior to Gentiles and confused them with the law of God.

And because of the circumcisionists they even began to keep the Old Testaments Jew’s Laws of circumcisions in flesh of their foreskin. And Apostle Paul beseeched Galatians Believers to be like Apostle Paul redeemed perfectly in The Gospel of Water & Spirit although He did have many infirmities and weaknesses of flesh as in the following scriptures:

Gal 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
Gal 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
Gal 4:12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
Gal 4:13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
Gal 4:14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
Gal 4:15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.
Gal 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

So although Apostle Paul was weak in flesh yet because He was redeemed in Spirit the Galatians Believers didn’t despised or rejected Apostle Paul but received as an angel of God before.

But when false preachers of Circumcisionists confused the believers of Galatians He is put to questions them that where are those blessedness that they spoke of in Spirit because before they were ready to submit to Apostle Paul their life who was the redeemed Spirit and His flesh was dead with Christ but when later when Apostle Paul brought their mistaken faith and belief in light He is questioning that did He become their enemies because He spoke truth and He stood in truth.

Gal 4:17 They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
Gal 4:18 But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.
Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
Gal 4:20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

It is always good thing to become stubborn and zealous in Truth and in good thing of Spirit but to be so called good in flesh and even to try to keep a single law of God is to stand before His Righteousness and rejecting His Grace of Salvation. Since human couldn’t keep a single good and just law of God He had to sacrifice His One & Only Begotten Son Lord Jesus Christ through water, blood & spirit and bail out the sinful human beings from the prison of sins that they were in because of the Law and to try to once again stick to law means to fall back into prison of sins. So even to try is great rebellion before the just and good Righteousness of The Holy Trinity and fall from The Mercy & Grace of Salvation, The Gospel of Water & Spirit.

So Apostle Paul is made to doubt of their faith whether they are really saved in the mercy and grace of God, The Gospel Truth of Water & Spirit.

Even in the beginning there was faith and not law as Abraham The Father of Faith/Believer was justified because of the faith that He had in God’s Words as declared in scriptures:

Gen 15:4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
Gen 15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Gen 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Faith was from the beginning. In those days Lord walked with Abraham and they were like friends. And once Abraham was justified by His Faith in the Words of God, God as a sign that His Descendants will be God’s People God gave him the circumcisions.

In Abraham God manifested both law and grace. Ishmael born of bondwoman depicted the bondage of human in the law (the work of flesh) but Isaac the born of freewoman Sarah depicts the free one, the Son born to Abraham because of the Words of God and faith of Abraham on the same. We are not the children of bondwoman Hagar (Law) but we are the Children of free one Sarah (Grace). Like wise we are not the Children of Law once we are bought with Grace of God in Lord Jesus Christ, we are the children of free and the law has no effect on us as the just demand of law to buy us back from slavery of law has been done by Lord Jesus Christ with His Water, Blood & Spirit. So those who are born again of water & spirit are the children of Sarah while those who want to work and stick to Law and their prayers of repentance are the children of Hagar (Bondwoman) and thus under the gravity of the curse of law which is spiritual death.

But it was the faith in the words of God one was justified and circumcision in flesh was just a sign given by God to Abrahams as a token of Abraham’s faith and a confirmation that that Jews was God’s people. But circumcision in flesh is not something that justified mankind before God from sins it was The Faith. The Faith in the words of God.

Later through Moses God gave Abraham’s Descendants The Law & Rituals. But the reason God gave them Laws were that at first place they totally forgot the God of their Ancestor Forefather of Faith Abraham, Isaac & Israel (Jacob). They were for 430 years under the slavery of Egyptians where there were pagans worshippers.

So to once again bring people back close to God, God gave them the Law from which one could gain knowledge of what sins are and God didn’t give them the alone but knew that these people will fall because of their infirmities and weakness of flesh so God also gave the rituals of remission of sins by sacrificial animal where the laying on of hands (passing of sins) and blood shed was done (Paying the price of sin) and they were thus redeemed from their sins. Even in offering the sacrificial animal of sins The Faith was mandatory, because Jews by faith laid their hands on the sacrificial animal and had faith that their sins was passed on that animal and by faith they handed over to The High Priest for bloodshed and by faith of the bloodshed of the animal their price for sins was paid and they were redeemed. And in the Day of Atonement which was on 10th Day of 7th Month Aaron or the Present High Priest then laid His hand on the sacrificial goat confessing and passing all the trespasses and sins of Jews on its head and by faith in the hands of suitable man the goat was taken to wilderness to perish with sins on it and by faith with the death of the sacrificial goat they were redeemed from their year’s worth of sins, iniquities and trespasses.

SO WITHOUT FAITH THERE WAS NO REDEMPTION OR SALVATION

BUT NOT THE FAITH IN WHATEVER THINGS THAT THE DISBELIEVER OR PAGANS HAVE.

BUT FAITH IN REMISSION OF SINS WHERE THERE HAD TO BE SOMEONE WHO HAD TO BEAR THE SINS ON SOMEONE’S BEHALF AND PAY THE PRICE FOR THE SAME.

So the laws of God although it is just and good, there was no man who could keep it to perfection. Law imprisoned human into sins and to get out of the prison some one had to bail him/her out otherwise one is sure to perish in prison of sins (hell).

So by law people was made aware of their true natures that they are sinners bound for hell.

So until that time when the grace of God was not revealed, the people of God was kept under the law but once the Grace of God has been revealed by which someone paid the bail price of that imprisoned prisoner (sinful human) now who can withhold him any longer not even the just and good law of God because the price or the just requirement of laws which states that the wages of sins is death (Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.) has been paid in full by Water, Blood & Spirit of Lord Jesus Christ.

Gal 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
Gal 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
Gal 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
Gal 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Gal 4:27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
Gal 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Gal 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
Gal 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
Gal 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Once we are made free of sins who would like to again fall into same filthy pits of sins with the deception of Satan and false prophets and pastors who puts un back into the bondage of sins telling to offer the prayer of repentance and fall from the grace of Christ and be no more than The Christian Sinner bound for Hell blaspheming the name of The Holy Trinity.

Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Gal 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
Gal 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

So let us stand fast in the faith of The Gospel of Water & Spirit without which we are just vanities. When faith in Jesus Christ has made us free by the Gospel of Water & Spirit there is no effect of circumcision or law on the born again because now the spiritual law is written in our spirit and souls.

So those whoever are born again of water & Spirit are free of written law of God but now the law of God is inscribed in us, the people of God as stated in the scriptures and prophesied by Prophet Jeremiah with the indwelling of The Holy Spirit.

Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Since The Holy Spirit dwells inside of us hence He teaches us and walks with us in our daily life within the grace and righteousness of Christ strengthening us in our Spiritual Growth.

Gal 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
Gal 5:8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
Gal 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Gal 5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
Gal 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
Gal 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

So the race of faith and endurance in The Gospel of Water & Spirit is the most blessed one and if we who are dead to law though Jesus Christ once again entangle with the law then we are falling into the deception of Satan and doctrines of Satan like a little leaven which leavens the whole lump. And if we entangle ourselves with even one of the work of law we are indebted to keep the whole just as being circumcised even while believing in the Gospel of Water & Spirit is indebted to keep the whole law and falling from the grace of God.

Gal 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

And even to try is to fall from the grace and mercy of God’s Righteousness that we have in Lord Jesus Christ and in The Gospel of Water & Spirit. It is simply an open rebellion against the God’s Righteousness because God having known the nature of humans that humans are from birth are sinners and very fragile and weak to keep the law paid just price demanded by the Law by sacrificing His Son in The Gospel of Water & Spirit. So even to try is a sin leading to death and open rebellion against God’s Righteousness and fall from the blessing of salvation to become God’s Children and enjoy eternal life with Him.

Note we are the free children of God without sin. The Righteous Children of God in Gospel of Christ (The Gospel of Water & Spirit) but only one need to beware of falling into same pit and doing the accursed deeds of flesh. Being liberty in Spirit one need to be sure not to use the liberty for flesh

Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Since God’s loved us so much that He gave His Only One & Begotten Son Lord Jesus Christ,

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

So just as God loved us so much we the born again of water & spirit are to love the one another and free other lost and deceived souls with The Gospel Truth of Water & Spirit.
The greatest commandment of God is Love. First the Love of God and Truth and Love for mankind to free themselves from their sins with the Love of God in The Gospel of Water & Spirit. Amen.

Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Gal 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Like human can not do anything together at one time so is the battle of flesh and Spirit. If we walk in Spirit there won’t be an opportunity to serve flesh but if we don’t then flesh takes the opportunity and does its work weakening us in Spirit.

So let us walk in Spirit so as not to give opportunity for flesh to do its work on us.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Because those who walk in Spirit are free from the effect of law i.e. the law works in flesh but once we don’t provide the opportunity to flesh the effect of law is nullified by the water & spirit of Christ.

Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

And those who are in Christ Jesus and being born again of water & spirit have crucified the same (flesh) and all its action and reaction with the water & blood of Christ and the same (The Gospel) has made free from the curse of the law applied.

Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Like Apostle Paul the born again saints in water & spirit are so much frustrated when the Christian sinners confronts us marking us cults, heretic when what are judging us as are those same people. But we can learn a great spiritual knowledge from following scriptures.

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Although Apostle Paul is at first bit infuriated with the circumcisionists in Galatians Church but still He advised the Spiritual Brethrens who are born again to correct the mistakes of their belief with meekness and restore the blessing back lest we fall into same curse if born again don’t correct the same and let it go and The Gospel gets corrupted because of the leavens of man’s thoughts.

Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Gal 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

We all have infirmities and weakness and so Apostle Paul advised the born again saints of Galatians to bear one another burdens which means to love one another and let no man thinks of himself something when he is nothing before God, just a complete vanities.

Gal 6:4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
Gal 6:5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

But everyone to contemplate His work, His Spiritual Walk and see and just as one need to look and one’s heart whether one is really redeemed from all his sins by believing in The Gospel of Water & Spirit or not.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

If one is sinless in heart then the indwelling of The Holy Spirit in him/her makes him rejoice and bear fruits of Holy Spirit.

Gal 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

And The born again saints should fellowship and share in good work of The Gospel with the predecessor of faith

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Gal 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Since God has done everything to perfection from Genesis to Revelation so let us have faith and trust Lord in His Righteousness, The Gospel of Water & Spirit and let us not grow weary in good work of preaching and saving lost and deceived souls in The Gospel of Water & Spirit and let us not start to complain to God because of the complicatedness and weakness of flesh because He will not be mocked since He has done His part and is always with the faithful born again, now it is in our belief and faith in His Righteousness that we need to walk with in our daily life. If we walk in flesh we shall reap corruption and curse in hell but if we trust and walk in spirit we shall be blessed with eternal life in Heaven and be a partaker of Lord’s Inheritance. Hallelujah and Amen.

Gal 6:11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
Gal 6:12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
Gal 6:13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

Why do the deceived keep on sticking to the work of flesh of long days of fasting and their fleshy miracles instead of being born again of water & spirit and become Righteous. To them Christianity is nothing more than a religion where they looking for being extra ordinary and supernatural people in flesh not realizing whatever they are doing is only the deception of Satan and soon for that deception where they have been practicing witchcraft in the name of Jesus having being a sinner in heart will have to pay triple the price for their work, belief and deceptions. First for not being remitted of their sins by the Gospel of Water & Spirit and second using Lord’s name in vain (Blaspheming His Name) and third not believing in the perfect work of God and His Righteousness.

Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Gal 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
Gal 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
Gal 6:17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
Gal 6:18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Is there anything or any good in human flesh, even in born again of water & spirit is there anything that we can boast of before God? There is none. Without the Righteousness of Christ which is the Gospel of Water & Spirit even the born again is vanities. But still vanities such as us have been transformed into someone and much glorified Holy Being, The Children of God. Hallelujah and Amen.

So there is nothing to boast of in our flesh but the new life we have received in Jesus Christ in The Gospel of Water & Spirit, which we need to hold on to lest devil approach us with deception and we lose the blessings like countless not born again of water & spirit have already lost. They are noting more than and empty vessel where name of Lord Jesus Christ resounds but where The Holy Spirit doesn’t dwell.

Here in this book Pastor has clearly and in detail explained on the mistake of the prayer of repentance which is as same as the circumcisionists of Early Church Age of Galatians who tried to once again entangle the born again to the curse of the law which is similar to nowadays not born again pastors of water & spirit who preaches their congregations to repent for the sins committed when they in fact should lead their congregation first to be rebirth of spirit in water & spirit and lead their life in Christ’s Righteousness and not in their thoughts and emotion oriented belief.

I have been greatly blessed with this book and I have summarized my understanding and blessing as above and written this review through the guidance of The Holy Spirit. I hope every born again will realize how this so called prayer of repentance is a sin leading to death. It is most proper and blessed to confess our sins because God is faithful and just as He has already forgiven and remitted us from all our unrighteousness through The Gospel of Water & Spirit and we always remain close to God with gratitude and joy. Hallelujah and Amen.

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  

May the grace and abundant blessing of Heaven & Earth be bestowed on all the Born Again Saints in The Gospel of Water & Spirit. Amen.
