Your first website review, was brief and I believe you are missing why it was written. There is nothing about how it relates back to A&P and I it is a very short review...go into more depth. I agree with you about the amazing stories though :)

The second review

Needs more on "the aspects of the brain's function relating to the body and the health of the brain". You give an examples,i.e. Alzheimers, alcoholism, and retaining information, sort of, but more is needed to push the point your trying to make.

I like the site, and you point out some good things. However, more is needed.

I found your first website review on braininjury.com was very interesting. I do think that you are missing information about why this website was written and what topics are offered.

I also noticed you talked about how it was difficult to look for sub pages in which i would assume that is why you don't have the topics in your review. Both reviews are short, it is hard to tell which one is your major and which is your minor.

Your 2nd website review on memory loss seems to be lacking most of the required information. You gave a summary of what the site has and looks like but not really what was said on the site.

I found the first review hard to follow, and i think a couple spelling errors, I also did not see a paragraph on how this related to our class.

The second review was easier to follow and read, i think you should go in more detail on how this realates to our class.

I think you are missing a summary of how the website relates back to the basic antatomy and physiology of the body. I know your topic is about the brain however, what relates back to the first part of A&P.
I think you did a solid review on the other areas of the review, I agree with you on the best features of the website. Real life stories really put things into prespective.
Again, the only area of improvement I can see would be to include a paragrapgh on how your topic relates back to A&P.

Brain Injury. com
http://www.braininjury.com/index.html
This website is posted by BrainInjury.com. As its name shows this website covers “brain section” of human body. What especially they focus on is traumatic brain injury, TBI. What I like is that they give us information from various aspects. For example, we can get to know how adults and children differently get their brain injured, how a coma really is and is different from a vegetative state, and how brain injury and other materials are related with each other. I also like pictures they provide along with each category. I believe that they really want to help victims of traumatic brain injury by letting them know the details of medical condition and availability of legal aspect for the victims and their family.
This website is about “brain.” As we learned about a brain in the class,a brian is in charge of our life. It controls most our behaviors based on our conscious, subconscious, and unconscious level in each section of brian. Because each section of berain are related with each other, if one part is broken, it affects other parts easily. Because of thius complexity and significance, its damages can chage one's personality, also it can cause a state of unconsciousness or even death; therefore, we do need to be careful not to damage our brain. Also, because a brain is in charge of a lot of both mental and physical activities of body, brain injury can affect other deficiencies such as hearing, sight, and depression. So, we need to worry those possibilities as well.
I think that the best two features of this website are that, first they provide the page which contains amazing stories of people who recovered from severe brain injury because I think this help those who are suffering from brain injury to think positively, also it is very good to hear real voice of victims. <http://www.braininjury.com/amazingrecoveries-stories.html>;
The second feature I like best is their information of attorneys in U.S. and Canada (a little bit). They clearly divided into states and they let us make contact with those attorneys in very easy process. http://www.braininjury.com/brain-injury-attorney.shtml
The worst thing of this website is that it is difficult to look for subpages. I would suggest that they need to separate some topics into some bigger categories such as “basic information” which contains “the anatomy of the brain” and “about cranial nerves” or so. Another worst thing is that they do not have basic explanation of nervous system although they speak about gray matter, white matter, and axon. I think it is better to have some section to explain about the basic structure and function of nervous system.

Memory Loss and the Brain
http://www.memorylossonline.com/index.htm
This website is posted by Rutgers University. I think that this website is like magazine; however the big difference is that we can find the detailed definition and explanation of medical words in a glossary page. Difficult terms are highlighted in blue letters, and we just need to click the highlighted terms if we want to know the meaning, which is very easy and helpful. This website is covering the relation between memory loss and brain through various aspects of medical conditions. I believe that they are posting this website to give their information about brain, which they have gained, also to improve their understanding of brain by memory research.
This website is definitely related with “brain” section of anatomy. For the issues of Winter 2007, besides the damaged brain condition of Alzheimer, they provides information of alcohols and right time to remember. I think those are helpful and useful for our daily life health matters.
The best thing of this website is that we can participate in their program through http://www.memorylossonline.com/getinvolved.htm and also http://www.memorylossonline.com/learning_m...s/memorygames1.html which is a game. I also think the glossary page is the best thing of this website. It helps us to understand articles they provide. The worst thing of this website is that they have few pictures. I like to see real pictures with some explanation to appreciate the subject. Also, the link for participation of memory research did not work, which is bad thing. http://www.memorylossonline.com/getinvolved.htm#

Noriko,
REally intereting topic and websites. Please notice that your first two websites are really separate pages from the same website...BrainInjury.com

The Memorly loss site is posted by Rutgers university.

All of these seem to be rather major websites...I'm not sure which one you would use as a minor website to review???

I thouight the BrainInjury.com was really nice for all the images they have.

maybe you can find a sub-page of one of these sites--patient story or something like that--to use for your minor website?

1. Wow I thought your first website was great. It gave so much information on the brain and even pictures to go with it. Very nice. I am also doing my research on the brain I’m sure you know and so I can’t wait to read more about your topic.

2. I felt like your second website was good but I also felt like it either didn’t contain enough about the topic and/ or it contained to much of the other site stuff. I think though that there is still plenty of information out there for you to use.

3. I didn’t care so much about this third website only to find that there wasn’t a lot of information. I may have miss looked though. I hope that this sight gives you information that will be useful even though it is small and limited.

4. Lastly your forth website was great. Lots of information and all in an easy place to find it. I hope these sites give you all your information.

1. http://www.braininjury.com/injured.html
Pros
A. I like the section of stories posted by other readers, makes a person feel they are not alone if they or a loved one is afflicted with the same condition, gives hope.
B. Covers many areas of brain injuries, gives lots of information.
Cons
A. Some of the topics are a little confusing, it could be condensed, ex: the opening paragraph in “Seizures and Head Injuries.
B. Each topic could be better structured, have paragraph headings for things like “condition”, treatments or research for that specific condition etc, some topics seemed jumbled.

2. http://www.braininjury.com/children.html
Pros
A. Good explanation of what happens after an injury.
B. Good explanation of difference between a child’s and adult’s brain injuries.
Cons
A. Very vague, although it covers brain injuries, but what does one expect from a certain injury? Ex: shaken baby, blunt trauma to the head, cerebral palsy etc.
B. Same website as the first, another website with other/additional information, and another point view would have been a better reference.

3. http://www.memorylossonline.com/glossary/anterogradeamnesia.html
Pros
A. The website gives a lot of information on the types of memory loss.
B. I liked the stories of people who were afflicted by the condition, gives one hope.
Cons
A. Needs more information on rehabilitation, if I knew someone who suffered memory loss, I would be looking for tips and tricks to help them remember.
B. Good explanations of what kinds of memory loss, but what research has/is been done to help correct the conditions?

4. http://www.tbirecovery.org/
Wow, great site, covers so much, this is what I would be looking for to help me better understand, and work with the condition and anything else that may arise my two favorite topics are:
A. The insurance coverage is a favorite. I love it when a website posts something that others may not have, there are questions of many magnitudes and insurance is an important one.
B. Therapies, the tips and tricks would be very useful to a person looking for ways to help someone with memory loss.
Cons
I can’t see a thing wrong with this website; it has everything and then some.

I want to focus on the loss of memory which happens by a sudden accident such as a car accident.
When I was an lementary school student, one of my classmate got a car accident. He hit his head, and he lost his memory. To recall his memory, my classmates and I recorded messages for him one by one. After he listened our voices, a miracle happened to us; his memory came back.
I think that this phenomenon is very valuable to look at.
