Debra - which equipment is faulty?
This is very different to 1501 and doing well in lab requires being prepared and budgeting your time well once in class. We have tried to supplement the manual as much as possible by posting web pages related to each experiment - these are accessible during lab and seem, from the overall feedback we've had, to be popular and helpful.
We've also been through and done each experiment ourselves to see where things go wrong and, for example with the Ni/DMG experiment, it seems to work quite well and is certainly manageable in the 3 hour time period. The instructions for plotting the graph were quite straightforward also. If you have problems you might visit the TA office hours that are available (link below) and ask some questions. Most of those TAs are involved in 1515L and will be able to help.
