New movie: "Boyhood" (Accafeet info)

(in production)
A movie about the actual "growing up" of a child and the changes in him and his parents.
Filming began in 2001 and will continue until 2013.
Also includes several child actresses who may visibly grow taller during the film.

Transformation Fetishism and the mainstream media

One is a small group of people that call themselves TF'ers. These guys are into She-Hulk because they like it when she grows out of her clothes. And then you have an even smaller and even more hardcore bunch that consider themselves Anti-TF'ers. This smaller subsection hates the other group [because] they think they're perverts and that they're ruining the character for all time. The Anti-TF'ers also seem to subscribe to the belief that anyone who is a She-Hulk fan and who is not an Anti-TF'er is, therefore, a TF'er by default...and subsequently a pervert.
The TF'ers I can ignore. If that's why they like the book-whatever. It's their $2.99 and their right to enjoy the book however they see fit. It's not hurting anybody. What's the damage? God bless America!
The Anti-TF'ers? Jeezaloo! I'd reply to their posts and answer their questions, and suddenly I'm a "pervert," a "pornographer," a "Borg drone," and...well...the list goes on.
The book hasn't even come out yet, and this group of 200 plus (though only 10 or so post), has tried to start a letter writing campaign to have me removed from the title. In posts on their board and the She-Hulk Message Board, they've said that I should be "fired," "shot," and "gotten rid of" before I'm allowed to "rape," "destroy," "mutilate," and "ruin the character for all time."

Backyard Resistance

The Paramount film is to be produced by Scott Rudin (The Truman Show), with a screenplay by Daniel Clowes (Ghost World).
Instead of shooting it over 7 summers, they may hire 3 sets of similar looking actors (perhaps brothers) to play the boys at age 12, age 15 and age 19.

Phil of the Future
Episode: "Age Before Beauty"

Phil takes the age changing device from a disappointed Keely and puts it away.
We next see Keely at school wearing a pink and black sweater 'thingy'
(at first I thought it was oversized because of the long sleeves...
don't think so now), and mini-skirt. She reaches into her purse and
has the device. Alone, she uses it on herself and the camera stays
tight on the device as she waves it over her body (making it hard to
see what is happening). Tightly focused, the camera follows her
hands putting the device back in her purse. (I can't really tell if
her hands look older or not.) She then gets a compact from her purse
and we can only see the reflection of her smiling mouth when she sees
the 'new' Keely (altho we can only see her mouth you can tell it is
an older person and not the same teen). The camera then goes low and
we see her black mini, black hose and shoes walking away. Nothing
much above the waist (or shoulders) yet.
She goes to surprise Phil at his locker. When the camera gets back to
her face, we can see she is now 25 years old and a hottie. Of course
she still acts like a teen. She finally clues Phil in on who she is.
He likes how she looks, but isn't happy that she took and used the
device, but she doesn't care much. She likes how she looks at 25. She
hands the device to him as if it's no big deal and tells him to zap her
to 14 again.
The regular teacher comes back to class and relieves Keely (Miss
Vanderhoosey). He follows her to the hallway and asks her out, and
before she can think of an excuse he has cornered her into a date.
Phil then finds her and returns her to 14 again (this time camera
stays on her face and shoulders and there is a morph) and explains
they have a problem. He knows his teacher has been distraught over
the previous breakup with his girlfriend and thinks if Keely stands
him up it will be bad for his teacher's mental health.
...So they develop a plan. Keely will return to 25 and meet with the
teacher as planned. She will tell the teacher that she has a
boyfriend that is a pro baseball player and let him down easy. Phil
will use the device to AP into that ballplayer.
The teacher and Keely meet and are talking. She sees Phil arrive and
has an opportunity to mention her boyfriend.
Phil, sensing the opportunity, goes to use the device on himself and
gets bumped by someone as he is setting the device. Instead of APing
into his 20's, when he got bumped he accidentally set the device for
75, and ends up 75 years old. But he doesn't know that he's AP'ed
into a 75 year old. So he heads on over to the table continuing with
the plan. Keely hands him her compact and he sees something went
wrong. They do some quick thinking and adapt their plan to this new
twist. 75 year old Phil gives the teacher some 'wise' advice on
relationships and the teacher understands.
I wish here that Keely had decided to match herself to Phil by aging
herself to 75 too, but that would have been too much to hope for!
Phil then AR's himself to normal, and then turns to AR Keely to normal.
I thought it was very good, and it was great to see some female AP in
a show.

Anime review

Fancy Lala is a 1998 anime series about a 9 year old girl, Shinohara Miho, who is given two little stuffed dinosaurs/fairies that turn out to be alive. They say that they are from the world of the memories of time, and they can grant her a magical power.
The power that they grant her is to age herself into a 15 year old girl, Fancy Lala. They also give her a pen and pad that she can use to draw herself new clothes for her larger alter ego. Since Lala dresses in the larger clothing before transforming, there is no nude transformation scene.
There is not much objectional in this show. As a parent, I was concerned about a show where a child changed form into a teen. I could imagine all sorts of bad things that could happen to such a child, but the show appears to skirt these issues. It is a wish fulfillment show, where by transforming Miho is allowed to do things that she could not do as a 9 year old.
She becomes a model and a singer. She meets her favorite TV stars. She gets a job, has a cellular phone and a bank account. She can have any clothing that she can draw. Although the premise seems a bit suspect to a parent, kids immediately like it.
There is a man called "Mystery man" with a suitcase full of transformation pens, who shows up from time to time to help if anything bad seems likely to happen to Lala.
Miho finds herself inside her older sister's mind while slipping back through time in episode 19.
It was very sad by the end of the series, Miho loses the Magic Pen and Sketchbook, and Pigu and Mogu tried to create another Pen and Sketchbook, but they have vanished after that.

In a world of male transformation scenes, the following girl growup movies seem to have vanished without a trace:

 - Hinog Sa Pilit, Sobra Sa Tamis
 - To The Ends Of Time

So far, CGI aging is only used to make adult actors look like older or younger adults. But the technology already exists to digitally transform a girl into a woman, if any movie director wanted to do that.

James Cameron: The other thing that people aren't talking about, you can take an actor of a given age, and you can transform their age. Additive makeup can age somebody, but it's hard to make someone younger. Let's say you have a novelistic storyline where you cast an actor in their 40s, but the first time you see them they're 15 years old and the last time you see them they're 80. This is the Benjamin Button idea. Clint Eastwood could do another Dirty Harry movie and look the way he looked in the '70s. He would still be making all the performance choices. It would be his voice. We'd just make him 30 years younger.
