Okay, I just went through the player profiles on the web site. What a great group of young ladies, but dag Shay's jersey was still warm and someone's already got her number! Not a big deal, but a little surprising.

The best thing I read was that Kristi went to Point Guard college over the summer!!! Everybody (non-Terp fans) was so sure she would fold and transfer after the NCAAs last year. I was pretty sure she would work hard to get her starting spot back, she just seems like that kind of person...unshakeable. PG College...I didn't even know there was such a thing.

Anyway, can't wait until opening night on Holloween. Go Terps!!

Hey Terpzphan,
i agree completely with what you said about shays jersey! i mean she hasnt even been gone for that long. i wasnt expecting anyone to take it this soon, but it doesnt really matter...im just surprised. That freshman that had it though has a lot to live up to with that number

The player that has been given #22 is redshirting this year, recovering from knee surgery. Maybe, by the time she's ready to play, UMD will decide to honor Shay's #22 and put it in the rafters. There are no retired #s at MD, just Honored numbers ( 3 jersey #s are hanging from the rafters at this time ).

Joey, Rutgers is where Jimmy Valvano attended college and also where he got his start in coaching. That, I believe, is a reason that Rutgers is a favorite to host this game.
