Hi Everyone,
Took the liberty of trying out PhotoStory3 with our collaboration. (I attended the workshop a couple of weekends ago). If you like the packaging idea, we can add to it, change it, whatever…the program is very simple…really made for students to grasp quickly. I think it would be better if someone else narrated, maybe a bit more lively, upbeat, than I was able to. The program creates the music, so that can easily be changed as well.
The program is free from Microsoft, so I can easily put up the project file into a file sharing service to get it out to everyone for editing. (The project itself is just under 10 Mb., so maybe I could email it).
Interesting thing is that the program produces to a choice of formats: for email (the one I’m sending you, under 2 MB), DVD, Video CD, Pocket PC, SmartPhone, Portable Media Center, and for the computer. Settings can be customized.
Anyway, I’ll email to our group. It’s a wmv so it plays in Windows Media Player. (This is a negative for the Mac people…sorry). Probably can find a way to convert to avi, now that I think about it.
Well, let me know what you think…

Hello all,

I just checked out the powerpoint and it looks great. Is looks done to me. Is there something else I could work on? I will keep checking this collaboration site if anyone thinks of anything.

I just checked Marratech also and no one was on. See you online on Tuesday.

Hi I've been checking but I guess no one else is online. I have made some photo graphics, as I have said, but am hesitant to add anything because it is looking very good already. Guess I will wait to show them to everyone when we are all together(virtually or otherwise). It is probably just my visual OCD tendencies but, from a visual perspective, I thought it might look good to have all photo graphics for continuities sake. It looks great as it is for sure and all the work done is great!

I just got home and found that no one is online tonight. I agree with everyone that we can package the collaboration easily at this point using Google Documents. It seems to be near completion anyway and I also think it is looking very professional. In reading about the CLE, I think it supports many of the essential elements. See everyone on 11/6.

Hi everyone,

Yes, we are online on the 6th, but according to the class website, we will still be able to break up into small groups to put our warm up together. I'm not sure how it works, but that is what Michele writes (see left column of class page for 11/6). Also, in the preparation area of the 11/6 class page, Michele writes:

"Continue to brainstorm (via QuickTopics) on Warm Up 3...Continue your conversation between October 23 and November 6. On November 6, there will be no more conversation on content. Together, you will package the project, probably using Skype and/or Google Documents".

This makes me think we will have time to finish packaging the project on 11/6. I guess we will do it on Marratech and via Google Docs - all electronically.

That said, there is certainly no harm in meeting on Marratech tonight, especially if we still need to discuss content. I didn't want to discourage anyone. Sorry. Unfortunately I can't make it, but please go ahead and meet without me. If you all meet and there is something that needs to be done (like search for an image), I would be happy to do that. Just let me know. I did some more editing of the presentation on Tues. I think it is looking pretty good. I'll try to take another look at it today and tomorrow.

Cheer,
Sally

Hi all.
Sally, I thought we're just online on the 6th - i.e. no class. I guess we'll put it together next class (13th). Am I correct about the 6th? I'm not sure what Michele means by 'online'. Does it mean as a whole class with her ??? Anyone know ?
I can be on Marr. on Thurs. Maybe I'll check to see who's there.

I can't meet tomorrow either. However, I wonder if it is necessary that we meet. The way I understand the class page, we will not have time to discuss the project, BUT will have time to assemble it during class on Nov 6th. We have almost finished it. I feel we could easily complete the assembly on Nov 6th. What do you all think?

Hi all! About meeting on Marratech this Thursday...I won't be able to meet at 7:30, but you all can go ahead if you want - I don't want to hold up the whole group. I could meet later, but probably not before 8:30 or 9:00..whatever everyone else wants to do is fine with me...Regards-Barb

Hello, I just viewed the powerpoint and I love it. I think we could take out the individual books on the # 22 and 23 slides. I like them on the same slide (slide 7). Great job.

Hi everyone...the presentation looks wonderful. Barb, did you add the Goethe quote? I love it. And thank you for the changes.

The presentation looks really great! Thanks for all the hard work! I added a few things, and made a few 'cosmetic'changes - font color and size to be more consistent, etc. Feel free to make any other changes. See everyone soon!

I added a slide to Martha's partnership slide. The presentation is looking great. Thanks Sally for pulling together the text and for adding the images too.
