In the junior high school, He learned computer skills, such as PowerPoint, and internet. He used Internet for his work before. The main use of Internet was sending E-mail and searching some words on google. Now he uses it for study research and enjoys it as a leisure. About her use of Internet, she cannot remember clearly when she started to use a computer nor Internet. However, it is for sure that she had been already using Internet in 1999. It is because the name of her first and the only email address contains “1999,” the year she created it. When she was in the middle school, she had to take “Information Technology” class. In this class, she learned how to research on Internet like using of Google.      Nowadays, she uses Internet for basically everything. For example, she is using it for study, research, Social Networking, downloading some music, storing the pictures, and contacting people by email. 16 Yuna Mimura 09-13-2007 11:01 AM ET (US) Tomohiko is a NS student. He mostly uses Internet for school assignment which he wants more information. For example, computer language, developing software, and also for ELP. He uses as a library. In addition, he sometimes chat with his friend. She researched about cheap candy for her study to graduate. Why she studied about cheap candy is that there was a cheap candy shop near her house, so she interested in it.  In her high school, she belonged to band club. Therefore, she searched music and had music played before buying on the Internet. She also used Internet to get the information of university.  Now, she uses it for study, Internet shopping, and social networking service (mixi). 14 Yuko Yamamoto 09-13-2007 10:54 AM ET (US) My partner, Yusuke has been using computer since he was junior high school student. He uses computer for writing essays, sending e-mails and i-pod. Another partner, Yu uses computer same purposes as yusuke. She often uses the internet when she wants to do research for her studying. She also emails her friends who live abroad to keep in touch with them. For leisure purposes, she uses mixi. Her career of using the internet began when she was a Jr. high school student. At the very beginning, she mainly used the internet for sending emails or searching information with google for study, but now the majority of reasons has changed. As the others do, she likes to listen to music, watching sports or visiting youtube. It means that the main reason to use the internet for her is now for hobby. Moreover, she used to use books to gather information as well as the internet, but the propotion has dramatically changed. He only visited the search engine site such as Yahoo! or Google, and typed words that he had interests. When he was high a school student, he often used the internet for getting information of university. He checked schedule of entrance examination of university on the web site. Now, he is a university student and he use the internet for finding a topic of essay. Also, he often watch the movie on the web site such as You Tube. 10 Yu Otsubo 09-12-2007 12:17 PM ET (US) Yuko started using computer and internet when she was a junior high school student. She used computer and internet to e-mail, to write essays, or to watch movies. At present, her purposes of using computer and internet are almost the same as before, but now she uses i-pod with computer. Yusuke also started using computer and internet when he was a junior high school student, and purposes are almost the same as Yuko. At now he uses i-pod too. He downloads music by using internet. 9 Rei Tsuha 09-12-2007 12:10 PM ET (US)   My partner, Akiko, has been using the Internet since she was an elementary student.   At that time, she used the web service provided in the official site of Sanrio for leisure. She could　get a "virtual home" in the site, and enjoy exchanging of messages with other users and charactors, for instance, Bad Batsu-Maru. I think some of you might also feel nostalgic for his name.   Then in her high school days, she started to utilize the Internet for blogging, and for getting plenty of information about study, future colledge, and so on.   After entering ICU, the Internet became more essential for her as a tool of academic activities.   In addition, recently she has realized the convenience of online shoping. Due to reseach and order on the Internet, she could give her mother a nice present on Mother's day. 8 Hiroko Nakagawa 09-12-2007 03:55 AM ET (US) My partner Yukie has been using internet since she was eleven or twelve years old. She used internet in her father’s office at the first time. He recommended her to use internet because it is interesting. Actually she was surprised at interesting of internet and she has been using internet by today. In British school in Italy, which she went to for some years, she learned information technology. In the class, she knew how to use internet. Today, she uses internet for killing time usually and does E-mail a lot to keep in touch with her friends in Italy. Sometimes she uses internet to get general idea or to collect some sources for study but she thinks library is better for studying. Her worry about internet is that once she starts internet, it is difficult to her to stop! 7 Yusuke Umeki 09-12-2007 12:20 AM ET (US) My partner, Yuko, studied how to use computer in junior high school. Nowadays, she uses her computer to write essays. In addition, my other partner, Yuu, also started using computer from junior high school. Her usage of her computer is e-mail, chatting, and also writing essays. 6 Shintaro Kurai 09-12-2007 12:03 AM ET (US) My partner, Yuu, started using internet at 11 or 12 years old. When he was junior high school student, he used internet for mostly searching about study. Then, when he became high school student, he started using internet for watching video. Moreover, before he took entrance exam for university, he used internet for searching which university is suitable for him. Since he became university student, he has useed internet for preparing academic tasks. 5 Lee Harada 09-11-2007 08:32 PM ET (US) My partner Susumu has been using the internet since he was in elementary school. His biggest influence was his brother, 8 years older than him, who was using the internet daily at that time. Presently, Susumu uses the internet for researching, studying, e-mailing, downloading music, looking up transit and maps, as well as downloading games. Susumu is fairly confident in handling the computer and the internet, but he says he is not so familiar with it as to be called a "computer otaku." However, he likes using it because it is convenient; it is not neccasary to go to the library everytime, but he can stay home and do his schoolwork.
