Always think Why would tracks run against each other when we have lower turnouts? Never came up with a good answer so like to get feed on how many showed there ,I heard Washougal is racing this weekend? maybe misunderstood. Albany IS racing but they get the Salem south crowd with a few Portlanders thrown in. Have fun out at Sandy ,always think I am going faster than the camera shows,AH maybe they need faster film to catch my awsom speed. HA!! JR

This Sunday at the Mt View race
My wife Deb works for North West Game films. They usually film High School sports games such as football, soccer, basketball and lacrosse. They sell DVDs of the event just minutes after the end of the event for dirt cheap. Deb talked the owner into bringing his film crew to this race to try filming motocross.
They will have 3 cameras on the track feeding a switching, recording and burning unit. So wear your most colorful jersey and watch yourself on video!!!!

More likely race at Albany for me.Went up to Washougal Monday(like I didn't spend enought time at races already). Track was not looking like fun monday, heavy rain Sunday changed nice track to one I would not have enjoyed.

Les took care of bussness all weekend long beating me 3 of 4 races. We did have 2 really good battles on Sat,moto 2 had us finish so close I didn't know who would get the moto win! With going to Fernly I think?? I will get the title for the class. Only took 20 years and haven't added up (don't want to) cost of chasing that jacket. Spoiled only child did it "because I wanted too"!! Miss you not being at the races hope you are doing great.Strange what a very small world we travel around in. With the common like for MC racing or motorcycles in general I keep re-meeting people from the past. Husky ride in moto 4 was a memory I will think of often1 See you down the road JR

Hello all, just checking into riding situation for practice. Looks like some folks are going to be heading for Longview on Sunday. Depends on my schedule Saturday.

In regards to elections and officers, I am thinking I am going to withdraw my name for consideration. Any questions feel free to email me.

JR. Well did you add up all the points and "clinch" the series? Looks like you guys had a good day of racing at the Fern. I found it interesting when you mentioned the Carabela MC's and having had a shop in Portland in the 70's. I was a Husky, Penton, Carabela, CanAm, Kawasaki dealer in Reno from 1972 to 1977. Motosport Inc. I had one of the very first Penton's with the 125 KTM motors in 1976 when I was campaigining the Two Day events. Guess that is why I still favor KTM's. Anyhow, hopefully Congratulations are in order, you won the series and don't have to go to Glen Helen for a show down.

Cough, cough , hack, hack, hopefully this is the last day of hacking up dust from the strong winds at the Fernley race. This race was my first all sand track race, also my first race jumping in strong winds, a bit spooky getting blown sideways in the air. The folks did a really good job keeping the track watered however the pits were pretty dusty with the gusty desert winds. I spent about 3 hours trying to get the van cleaned. Tried a couple of tricks that worked good for the high temps @ 97*F on Saturday. I filled my helmet with ice and carried to the start gate, dumped it just before the race and it stayed cool for much of the moto. Also soaked the jersey in the cooler ice water just before heading to the starting gate. It was pretty dry by the end of each moto. The Fernley group did a great job with such a small number of workers. I was 2 rows back from the starting gate and with out a P.A. system it was a bit difficult to keep track of which moto was up. I left Deb back in the Hotel Casino both days due to the weather conditions. She was grateful. Sundays cooler temps were very welcome but I think the wind was even stronger and (cough cough) dustier.

FUN
Get to the Nevada race if you don't go to any other National! Track,Light winds, WOW THE DINNER, total atmosphere of the club and the effort they put in makes this a race to go to.
 JR'S fun
Watch two guys crash in 1st practice one get transported, not the way to start a race weekend! Standing in food line guy asks am I JR? not always sure how to answer that. Turns out he is the son of long time Medic at Albany back in the early 90s,not sure how to ask about his dad as they moved due to health reasons. His dad Cliff Kobernick was at the track and was in the 70 class? riding his old bike from 1989,bought from Bob Leach,"JUST TO SEE IF HE COULD STILL RIDE" OH he was wearing a OX Bottle as his cammel back. As in the Randy Lane story Mitch's line IF he can do it WHAT is Your excusse. Walking back from dinner I pass two guys talking and hear the work "Carabela"most might not know this was a MC from Mexico in the early 70's. Have to ask how they know about this brand, find out Mark Bianchini's Dad was a rival dealer to me in Portland back in the day would have never made the connection..
After my race is over go look up the results find a rare error talk with Judy about it go in trailer/bus to straighten it out,Large guy comes in wanting some @%&$%%@cheater who changed bikes, didn't run right backrounds, even changed brands of bike, should
be dissqualified for the whole weekend!! Judy tells him to go see his chapter ref. He wants this handled "NOW"!! I tell the guy that was me,he reply "oh you saw him cheatting too!!" Judy tells him again go see your ref. FINALLY he understands what I am saying that I was in fact that dirty$%%^&&*%^$ cheater he was complaining about. We step outside and talk about the error of what I did and are looking forward to racing at Glenn Helen, IF any of you haven't heard the Glenn Higgens story ask Glenn about racing when "the Rules change" GREAT TIME JR

UPDATE ....UPDATE......who is the slowest rider at Fernley....
None other that our own Mark Bianchini. He won the jackpot and was the slowest rider at Fernley.....

You have to be there to see it. All the riders line up on the start, and the goal is to be the last person to first turn. One hitch you cant touch the ground.

GO MARK...
