The Hector Lions will be sponsoring a Pork Lion Supper with all the trimmings on Saturday, February 26,2005. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Hector Legion.
This free-will offering fundraiser will be a benefit for fellow Lions member CURTIS RADLOFF of Hector. Curt was in Abbott Northerwestern Hospital for 10 days before Christmas and went in again on Feb 1 for surgery. Curtis is a charter member of the Hector Lions Club, he is a very active and dedicated member. The Benson Lions will be hosting a Spaghetti dinner fundraiser for our member Don Minchow, SR. Don was diagnosed with cancer and is just beginning his chemotherapy treatments. The supper will be held on Thursday April 7, 2005 at the Benson V.F.W. Serving begins at 4:30 and will continue until 8:00. A free-will donation will be appreciated. We invite all Lions to attend this fundraiser to help defray the expenses involved in the treatment of this dedicated Lion.

Dave Olson, a long-time member of the Benson Lions Club has been diagnosed as having cancer. Dave has finished his chemotherapy and is now recuperating at home. Our club has scheduled a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for him to be held on Thursday, April 21, 2005. Time of serving is 4:30 to 8:00 and the event will be held at the V.F.W. clubrooms. A free-will donation will be accepted to help pay the extraordinary expenses involved in the treatment of this dread disease. Please show your support for Dave during these difficult times.

The Grove City Lions Club will host their spring pancake and sausage breakfast, Sunday, May 1 from 8:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. at the Grove City Community Center. Proceeds will go to the ACGC scholarship fund. Hope you can join us.

The Benson Lions are sad to inform our fellow Lions of the death of our dedicated member Lion Don Minchow. Lion Don fought a valiant fight against cancer and lost this battle on Thursday afternoon, April 21. His funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 25, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. There will also be a public viewing Sunday, April 24, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A special thank you to the Lions that participated in his benefit held on April 7. It meant a lot to Don to hear from his friends in Lions.

The Lowry Lions will host their annual Smelt Fry on Monday, May 1 from 5pm-8pm at the Lowry Community Center. Menu includes: all-you-can-eat Smelt, BBQ's, chips, potato salad and beverage. Tickets are $6.50 for adults, $2.50 for children 6-12 and FREE for children 5 and under. Discovery Days Preschool will have a bake sale also.

I just received word that Curt Radloff of the Hector Lions Passed away a few minutes ago. Curt was a very hard working and dedicated lion. He would thrive to put on or assist a benifit to help others. He truly exemplified what it is to be a Lion. I will post details of services. He truely "Made a good day" for many people.

The wake for Lion Curt Radloff will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Sunday May 1st at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, in Hector.

USA/CANADA FORUM: The USA/Canada Lions Forum is in Peoria this year and there is a bus going down there. We will be leaving on the 22nd of September and Returning the 25th. If you haven’t been to the forum it is an absolute great time. They have excellent seminars, great speakers and superb fellowship. The bus ride will be between $75 and $100/person dependant on how many sign up. So far we have 30 people signed up and have room for 25 more.
