A number of people may have gotten an email appearing to be from DGE Dewey Essig. Asking for help as he is "stuck" in London. DGE Dewey is doing well and in St. Cloud. Some a hacker got his email and is sending out a false message looking to scam people. If you get this email or hear information about it, please set things straight. Glad to know you are safe DGE Dewey.

Good Afternoon, as the current Information and Technology Chairman for my District, I am very impressed with you Web Site and the info you have on it. Our site www.district31b.0rg is just getting started and I am always looking at other District sites for new and different ideas to use on ours. Your Side Organization Program is outstanding and one of the best that I have every seen. Therefore, would it be possible to get a copy of your progam, not slides, but a paper version that we could use at our new member organization programs as a hand out. My E-mail is ectsr@charter.net, my address 4014 Rhynland Dr, Sherrills Ford, NC 28673. My Club, Sherrills Ford Lions Club web site is www.sherrillsfordnc.lionwap.org. A big thank you to each and every one of the 5M4 Lions who helped to make our 25th Mid-winter convention this past weekend such a wonderful success!! Everyone pitched in to make it a really great convention! Our speakers were all very motivating and inspiring and we as Lions have much to be proud of for the many great things we do! I know I can't thank each one personally - but without each of you, my year wouldn't be going as smoothly as it is - so thank you one and all! DG Cathy

Waz up Lion Cathy Plath:

I was wondering if you could send me about 10 newsletters for the Ridgewater Club. We are starting off things slow again this year but I know we will be doing gangbusters really soon. I am taking this semester off and have been asked to be one of the advisors to the club. I don't have anybody's addresses but when I do, I will surely zap them over to you. Could you please send them to my home address which is as follows: 313 10th ST NW, Willmar, MN 56201. Thanx so much for your help and keep up the fabulous leadership direction.

Our club would like to host a Racing Homer Pigeon race with proceeds to go to benefit children in some way and at the same time promote our sport. All proceeds will be for charity. Who would we need to talk to? Our club is based out of Wadena, MN. This is new to us, and we would like it to be done right, so we thought of the Lions. The thought was to have a 100 mile race with business's or organizations or individual people to be sponsors.

He is a dentist doing work in Haiti. He is a Rotarian and has built a clinic in a town in Haiti.
He came to our club with a slide show presentation. You can bet we will be getting involved. One of our own members is traveling to Haiti in January to help build more space for the clinics.

Thanks for the info. and I will pass it along. They send a cargo container of mdse down to this village when their container is full. Guess the shipping fees are quite high, but they have alot of good donors.

Donated Dental Equipment and Disaster Relief

I have been in contact with Lion Jim Brown from MD 25. 317-656-8899 jhbrown@agcin.org

Someone who wants to donate all of the equipment from a dental office - chair, X-ray, all of the tools has approached him. Would like it to go to a Lions project either in international or US. Must be a project that benefits the poor.

The equipment is sitting in a cargo container in donated space in a freight yard.

Any ideas on Lions doing dental work?

Please let me and Lion Brown know if we can put this valuable equipment to good use.

Also, if interested in making a donation to the victims of last weeks disaster, go to www.lcif.org. LCIF is supporting the Lions in New York and Washington DC in meeting tremendous local needs.

Retinal Imaging to better diagnose Diabetes

Fellow Lions,

Here in Connecticut, we have instituted a new project idea to promote the use of new high technology Digital Retinal Imaging to better diagnose Diabetes and other eye related problems.

The project involves public awareness as well as some start-up funding. The benefits will greatly help reduce blindness due to Diabetes and other problem.

You are most welcome to review how this project works at our web site at
http://www.ctlions.org/RetinalImaging.htm

Our BRANDON LIONS CLUB is thinking of running a BINGO game fund raiser every week. Are there any clubs out there that have this as a fund raiser ? If you know of any or your club does would you please inform our club how you run yours & what to watch out for .This seems like a good money maker but we know nothing about it. Send me an "E"mail at cec99gcc@REA-ALP.com . Thanks Lion Chuck

Just a note to inform fellow 5M4 lions that two neighboring lions clubs CAN work together on a project and make it successful. The Buffalo Lake and Hector Lions just completed a food drive for the Renville County Food Shelf. Buffalo Lake and Hector Lions club representatives delivered 1500 pounds of non-perishable food items to the food shelf.
