Smashed bus shelters with broken glass everywhere is a real safety hazard and an eyesore. Can't London Transport use perspex in rather than glass. Who's footing the bill for replacing glass all the time ?

How about advertising the newHistory of Petts Wood on the web site. Links to local shopping centers(Glades,Blue Water) etc would be useful

Has anyone thought of trying the Walking Bus scheme for local children attending Crofton School. It may help the children to get to school more safely and relieve traffic congestion around the school.

How about a 'HIT' counter so that we can see the number of site contacts.

Replying to "jennie mcnamara 6 11-16-2000 01:23 PM ET (US) Has anyone thought of trying the Walking Bus scheme for local children attending Crofton School. It may help the children to get to school more safely and relieve traffic congestion around the school."
I completely agree here. This may seem unconnected, but in Japan this idea is the norm. I lived very near the school when I went there, but I know still the roads are lethal in Petts Wood, I fully suport this idea and and would like to think my friends who now have children in Petts Wood would agree. Go for it Jennie, if you insist - it will happen ... let me know when you succeed

I'm moving (hopefully if I ever manage to get to the exchange phase!) to Petts Woods in the very near future and would like to say I think it's great that there's a web site detailing local information.

Is anyone else concerned at the dilapidated and dangerous state of Victoria Works (the old Dairy). From Iceland Car park you can see the vandalism that has occured over the last few months. I have been in contact with the council and with the owners over the last few years, as I would like to see this used as a facility for our young people of Petts Wood. What do you think?

There is nowhere for the youth in Petts Wood to go, well the nice teenagers who are not pikeys need somewhere to go to hang out and have fun without being hassled by pikeys because they are really annoying and stupid, ever thought about a skater park or youth group?

I am in total agreement with Michelle Rockliffe, as well all the garffiti that can be found everywhere, also all the sixteen year olds who ride their mopeds over the green footbridge. Under age drinking in the Soverign of the seas. Where will it stop.

I reckon a skate park would go down really well as that seems to be all the rage at the moment doesn't it. I agree that 'youths' need somewhere to call their own in a community. There is little doubt that somewhere like that would be covered in graffiti in no time but at least there is a chance that the graffiti would be confined to one area. As for under-age drinking, the only way to stop it is to encourage the pubs to check ID.

Very well having a skate park now is trendy and fashionable. But later when something new comes in we are going to be left with a waste land. I strongly believe a skate park will be vandlised and bring in all the unpleasent teenagers from the surrounding areas. Look at what happened to the half-pipe behind Skate City in Bromley, it got burnt down!!!! Also checking ID in pubs you notice its only when schools break up for the holidays. I have notice the Soverign of the Seeas empty when police turn up because over half of the pub is under age. I fully believe that the Daylight has got it right.
