The Ladies Aid Memorial Weekend Dinner was a grand success! The dining room was filled with enthusiastic diners and the donation basket was filled with money. Many people turned out to support this fundraiser in many ways - my thanks to each and every one!

Earth Day was observed on Great Cranberry on Sat., April 18th. Trash collectors were Gaile Colby, Karin Whitney, Ken Schmidt and Mary Wallace. Thanks to Ed and Jane Gray for opening the trash facility for dropoff. Thanks to Barbara Stainton, Clay Taylor, Polly Sanders and Eileen Richards for providing food for the cleaners' luncheon. Thanks to Janice Murch and her crew for the use of the golf cart. We are pleased to report that the island roadsides were in pretty good shape - four bags of trash were collected islandwide, with the majority of the refuse being found in the dock/beach area.

The date for the 3rd Great Cranberry Ultra Marathon is Saturday July 18 starting at 11 am. This event is meant to help bring more good energy to our beautiful island and to showcase our community spirit to visiting runners and their families. We have even heard from a soldier now serving in Iraq who would like to run, as well as many who have attended past editions. We'll also do a kids run again and other activites thru-out the day and evening. I can use volunteers and welcome input to help make this event a another success!

BULLSEYE SAILBOAT FOR SALE
1963 Cape Cod Shipbuilding fiberglass Bullseye sailboat for sale. This is a great daysailer. It is 15'-8" and seats 4 comfortably. This is a fiberglass version of the classic Herreshoff 12 1/2. We have sailed it in the Cranberry waters for 25 years. The boat is just as good today as it was when we bought it in 1983. The mainsail is about 4 years old, the jib is older. It has been stored and maintained at Newman & Gray on Cranberry. For further information contact Nathan Rome at 781 721 7415 or nathanrome@comcast.net.

Hello all,

My family and I are looking forward to another two relaxing weeks at GCI in July 2009. We are summer regulars as I have been summering on GCI for 35 years.
