Yeah, it's always good to drive 45 minutes there, get there and then realize that after warm-up's that the refs decided not to show...Espically when I could have just stayed home and watched the Sox win the World Series...

On behalf of the rest of the Outrage team I would like to retract the previous statement posted by Ourtage15. Sources have told me that he may have hit the pipe a few too many times before composing that worthless and completely...for lack of a better word "retarded" load of crap and wasn't in the right frame of mind. Typical though, we, the Outrage tried an intervention on him but that obviously didn’t take, so more drastic measures will commence upon further evaluation of his mental physical well being. So please, for his sake and ours, go easy on him out on the ice and when you skate by, give him a little pat on the back or tap on the shins and some words of encouragement to make him feel better about himself. Thanks for your support concerning this matter.

i have a spread sheet that adds up goals, assists, scoring %, save % etc. I've used it the last 3 seasons to keep track of points and how well we each are doing.
If any captain wants it for their team let me know. I just right down what each player gets and put it in the excel form after the game. If everyone was on board i would make a master sheet for everyone in the league and keep track of stats (goalies and players).
It would only work if everyone kept track of their team.

I just hope the new scorekeeper keeps track of shots on goal like you did Tim.

I agree with you Tim, too bad you can't play AND keep track of stuff....I liked being able to come online and check the scores of other games and who scored what goals, but from what I hear, that's going to require too much work. Wah, wah, wah.


Not that it really matters, but ever since I joined the men's league last spring, I've been keeping stats of my own play in net just because it's fun to do, and it's cool to see if I've progressed any or not, haha. I just hope the new scorekeeper keeps track of shots on goal like you did Tim.

I am not trying to crap on anybody but I was pretty much the glue for the league for the last 10 years and I am skeptical of how it's going to be run now...I am also just posting this stuff cause I know I am going to miss doing the game's(playing should be fun) and I still care about the league...

You will be lucky to get the standings up, nevermind scores and recaps...I was the one who started that,(recaps)and stuff and the only one who ever put any effort into that type of thing...My guess and advice to the captains on the teams is to keep track of the games and scores yourself and maybe post it on here...You are going to get a bunch of people that don't care running the stuff this year, so beware...

For some reason, I'm not surprised.

Highly unlikely we'll get anything that organized.

I talked to Vinny today and there is 5 A league teams and 9 B league ones. B league teams will play 1 game against one A league team.... the loss will not count against your record but if you win it WILL count.
You won't be playing A league players that often.

This is what I thought as well but when I saw the teams listed I got a little worried. I love playin on the large ice and Bidd has already started, Portland is starting on Sun and who know about Falmouth... its probably starting next week also. We are looking in to it now.

211 PIMS??? it's a little bit inflated as I would say about half of them came in 4 or 5 games when messages needed to be sent....






My first year(I only played two at the level) I only got into 17 games(1G 4A) but I got 113 PIMS...I was very very immature that year and I improved thanks to a great coach(who shall remain namless)...

Not really, I think Hood is one of the better "C" teams...I haven't played in a while and I am sure to have some rust and I am not trying to kock anybody but I am sure I will be able to score in the "C" league...In my last year of Junior "B"(in 96-97) as a D man I had 11G 72A 83PTS and 211PIMS in 45 games or so games but I got into a pretty big car accident and messed up my left leg pretty bad(that's why I walk with a limp) and haven't played ice hockey on the leg in 9 1/2 years...I played roller hockey like I said but that's a different story...Anyway I am in it for fun, I will help the Outrage win but having fun is what is most important...

How long has it been since you've played? For me, scoring , even in C, has become harder and harder every year. But it does seem a little easier against Hood now, doesnt it?

I know, I'm a little afraid of Tim's shots now lol....I need to get as big as J.S. Giguere in net if I'm gonna stop him......my size doesn't really help me in many situations haha

It sounds like Timmy might be able to just get a hat trick without you just letting him get one

Who knows, I may let you score a hat trick one night because you seem like a decent guy too..... :)

"god" thats a good one,,,i forget the name but i do think you had red jerseys!!!,,i remmber playing them,,hotham was a hot head back then too...do you remember "champion construction"? that was some of the future ragers and now we are all old,,,well ive talked to a few guys and if your willing to step into the darkside theres a spot on the outrage defensive line for ya...a few rules to fit in though,ok maybe just 1,,,,you must take part in beverage consumption before and after the game at sierras,,oh alright maybe 1 or the other,,let me know...

I don't remember who I played for per say but I do remember playing on a team with Hotham, Jermey Bowie-Haskell, Chris Neault, Alex Thomson and GOD himslef Paul Dyer...Needless to say I was the only player on the team that ever scored any goals, but we did take a lot of penalties...

The Men's league stars in mid-Oct...If you were there during that first year, then I am the only one left at the rink who was there back then...Too many changes and the rink stinks now IMO...And no there is no stick and puck left @ USM...Some people would rather let the ice sit there and melt than put anything fun like that together...

I can play anywhere but goalie and center(never taken a face-off in my life)...My best position's right D, then I can play right wing: I like to play on the off-side cause it plays to my best strength's: shooting, passing, hitting and fighting..:) j/k on the last two, I would never do that at USM...:)


Seriously if you need a guy, I want to play as I haven't really played in a full game since the roller hockey days back in Westbrook in 97 or 98...Played shinny a couple of times but no real games...



Oh and I will qualify for an over 30 and over league(if there is one, I have heard rumblings) in mid Nov...

Tim, I'll keep you in mind. I dont have an actual head count yet but we have a pretty consistent group of guys.

I know, you just got to call vinny and tell him that you want to be in the "C"...Last I heard there are like 20 teams coming this winter and I don't think Vinny is going to slip you in the "A/B"...As for this summer, it was a joke, we should have had 4 "A" teams and then 6 "C" teams...

I guess nobody wants me to play for them(no responses yet) so if you guys ever need an extra body I would be more than willing to play for you guys...

Doesnt seem to be that easy. We were in C last summer and enjoyed it and when winter came some how we were in a/b. Moved to C halfway through the season and had fun then. Then this summer, bingo, one size fits all league.

We felt it was a hard played semi-final game, as they should be in the playoffs. Also the game was called tight on both teams and some things could/should have been let go....
There were many familiar faces missing from the 'Rage, that's for sure..

Yeah, great job this summer Tim! I know I'm still kinda new, but I think you handle a lot of things pretty well considering what gets thrown around this league, even when I first joined last spring with that (insert sarcasm here) "stellar" USM team :-)

Isn't that Reporter's 3rd or 4th time coming back down in the game? They must have a really good pep talk system in between periods :-)

Ytown, it was a pleasure having you guys, I am sorry about the playoffs but I had no say, I actaully wanted to include you but it got shot down...Nice clean fast hockey, hopefully we can have divisions next year so you can skate the whole game without pissing off the older guys...

Skivy, I have no power anymore to amend anything, I can't even edit my post on here...They won't give me access to the website cause I am not a full time USM employee even though I have just completed my 9th year of doing games at the rink...That's why the standings had to be posted on here, not under where it says standings...Kind of a joke if you ask me...Anyway I told 7 out of the 9 teams personally(Hood and the Outrage being the two I didn't)...Hopefully everyone comes to this board...Now of to a wedding in 90 degree heat!!!

 i know its a beaten dog issue.. about leauge balance.. I think sniper17's penalty last night was a prime example..some young kid outta college and showing his savvy..frustrating a40 something with wife and kids and a house payment. at that point the game was 6-0. yadda yadda yadda.. you know the same USM board talk.ill quit my whining and try not to make it a jerry springer 101 show..if possible a leauge of a few teams with all 20's to 30's and all there NHL and college intentions.. and let us semi-old mens leaugers have there weekly hockey knitting and crocheting meeting.. great game tho monster just that one flare up..

Just wanted to say thanks guys for a great time. Wish we could have done the playoffs, but education prevails. great game the other night reporter. I wish more of our guys could have made it, we really wanted to put a blemish in your record but just didn't have the depth. Thanks again guys, it was fun, hopefully see you next year.

If you've got control of the home page to the USM hockey site you might want to amend or take down the playoffs schedule posted there as it's completely different than the schedule that you've posted here on the vine. (I realize that the one you've posted here is the correct one but some players are bound to log on to the USM page, assume the playoff schedule posted there is correct, and never make it to the discussion board to see the corrected schedule.) I'm sure it's something that was going to get amended at some point, just don't want to see people missing their playoff games. (Unless they're playing against TSI, that is....opponents can feel free not to show up if they're feeling merciful!)

There is pretty much no open ice(the rink is closed) during the day...When school Starts Sept 4, there will be open skate(with the time TBA)...

Chuckie is right, the Reporter could have scored 20 but they put their D up and forwards back in the 3rd and also when the did have a shot, they either missed the net or shot it right at the goalie...

Yes... I would also like to give a shout out to number 22 on TSI.. Your a great guy and one of the best players i'v seen, and played with in a long time.. Best of luck to you and your team through out the rest of the season...

I'm sure i would be the last one to stick up for ATS/Reporter players (partly because i love digging on them) But the 10-2 loss does not give the game justice. It could have been a lot closer then it appears. We had a goalie that hadn't played in a year (i appreciate him filling in for us) but their goalie played on his head! Man for Man reporter isn't better then any other team in this league... they just play well together.
I look forward to playing them again.
The top team will always take the heat for being the best.

This is random, I know, but I just wanted to give a shout out to Reporter's goalie.....I've played against him and watched him in other games and he always keeps in good spirits and congratulates his opponent whether he's winning by 1 goal or 10 goals....seems to be a great guy to play with, so kudos to him :)

Agreed, great game...Both Goalies stood on thier heads...

I play for Sebago and thought last night's game was a great one. NOT A SINGLE PENALTY WAS CALLED ALL NIGHT, yet there was plenty of intensity. Both goalies looked very sharp and every player was working hard. Thanks Boars...games like that (win or lose) is why we go to the rink each time...
