How does one get old paycheck stubs from the USPS 1979-1990? The State has come after me for not filing for 1990 and 1983 and 1986... So, I have an accountant but no check stubs, had to move in one day. All my items where put into the street in FLORIDA...Worked in TULSA, OK. Can anyone help me??????

/m1660 Our present PM is figuring out I know more then I let on (and I'm not saying, by no means that I know it all). BUT I see PM prepping to go out on disability (retirement) and so that would mean someone would have to keep the office running while she is out sick alot. She is trying to pull me in to more and more of her work (mind you while cutting my hours??) Thank goodness some of my access to various sites have expired and so I can honestly say, "nope I can't get on". I've been in situations like you've been where others comment about this or that PM/OIC in such a way they are soliciting a comment. I generally say, "well, XX tries hard" or "she/he is learning". Allows me to speak the truth and leaves others to either read between the lines or not.

WELCOME BACK Cajun! Glad to hear that the overall picture is good. And wow, even electricity, that is great. I know you've been through this but just wanted to share about the electricity for the office. We were without power for 1 1/2 weeks and found out the day our power was getting back on that a generator was coming. Found out a L20 office just 35 minutes away had 5 generators and was only using 2. Three brand new ones were sitting on the dock while the rest of us suffered terribly. Sorry folks flashlights don't get it when you are sorting mail. All of us had headaches from straining eyes the entire time. Anyway . . . I say this as if POOM (especially an acting POOM) can't help you, call around to the other offices. We immediately purchased headgear that has lights on them (after the fact- for preperation of the next) but since then have gotten a backup generator (which is great) Turned out all coastal Post offices in Alabama got generators. Anyway, if you need something . . . holler.

Hello everyone, we survived Gustav. Just made it home this morning. Cell service is limited, no land lines. My house is ok. We have a hugh mess in my yard, trees, limbs, leaves. Which is not bad. The storm came very close to my home. Even closer to my Office. I did manage to talk to one of my customers that lives two houses away from my office. He said everything outside looks ok and that my landlord did not board up windows. So the office was pretty lucky. There is a lot of destruction in the area. The Power Company managed to get us electricty this evening, which is very much appreciated, because you could only imagine how hot it is. I probably will not have electricity at my office, cause the area was hit pretty hard. But, received call from Acting MPOO, by chance, and the mail trucks are running tomorrow. So I have to go in and access my office and deliver my mail to the PO Boxes. And to report to him any problems I have with the office. I asked him what I was suppose to do if I have no electricty to my building, and he said we would cross that bridge when I report back to him tomorrow. Good night all, I am physically exhausted and still pretty stressed out. Thanks for all the prayers.

Southern clerk, I am a bit the same way. My present PM is a bit condescending, so I do not help her with info that I know. I've figured out that she does not appreciate it, will take credit for it, etc. so I just sit back and watch mostly. Former PM was great and encouraged me to learn, this one---not so much.
I had someone in the POOMs office mention her to me today, I wanted to say so badly, "Dont think so; apparently you've not been around her much!" But I just kept quiet..........

I would have to go along pretty much with Allen's choices. However, regarding question #1, I'd most likely do a version of B and A. Basically tell if asked. As a clerk with a revolving door of OIC's/PM's there have been MANY times I have access or knowledge that can make a new PM or OIC's job easier. Information shared has MUCH to do with their attitude. If they are above me, then they can swim on their own. If they treat me like a human, I'll do the same.
And in your case, #4 I would just do B. Your PM is NOT doing part of her job if she attempts to hold you back. She should be promoting your every effort, not trying to control and block.
(okay FWD, you have my feathers up on your PM)

Having a little fun here.
If you were a PMR
#1 If you were a PMR and learned how to use a USPS program on the computer that your PM didn't know, would you a) tell your PM about it right away b) keep your mouth shut, she will find it on her own c) hint around that you know something she doesn't on the computer but don't tell her what
#2 If you were a PMR and you found a mistake your PM made would you a) just correct it and keep quiet b) don't change a thing. you are not a "career" employee c) tell your POOM d) politely tell your PM about it
#3 If you were a PMR and your PM told you PMR's don't deserve to advance in the USPS you would a) cuss the PM out and quit immediately b) prove the PM wrong c) find another PO to work in d) give the PM the silent treatment and avoid her calls
#4 If you were a PMR and your PM changed your eAccess approver from the POOM to her you would a) accept it, after all your PM knows best b) change it back to the POOM yourself c) question your PM about it and try to convince her she is wrong

Counting down the time to find out how LA. fairs with Gustav. From what I can tell CajunOIC is in direct path presently. All we can do is pray. I needed a break from the news or rather the weather. All stations talking about the weather or the emergency alert system is breaking in. All we're getting is tornado warnings since early, early morning. A few good gusts, some rain but I imagine we'll be okay. Just watching this so much can get you edgy - so thank goodness we have electricity so I'm surfing the internet. Some of our beach areas are in power outages, but even that is described as very temporary.

/m1647 So you have rubbed elbows with the soon to be VP. Neat. I'll stick my neck out (trying not to offend others of different opinions) and just say I couldn't have been more PLEASED with McCains pick. Have always wanted McCain, even back when he ran against Bush. I like the Maverick. So was dreaded the picks of the shortlist of VP's that were being so heavily talked about. I love it, it appears we have a VP that would be the same.

/m1643 Wow FWD that sounds like PM has an attitude. I have worked with a few PMR's. Some were excellent, some? well, thought they knew stuff and didn't. But you know, whenever someone thinks they are irreplaceable at any job, well they are living in a dream world. Your PM gives me the impression she lacks confidence in herself and is fearful you might learn something or do better then she. I've had OIC's/PM's like that too. Only saving grace with us so far is that no one stays, they either retire or move up and some move downs.

/m1646 Yes SPMS is about scanning your box up time. HQ does not have eFlash set up for the smaller offices yet. I have been discussing other things with FWD I got my wires crossed on what was being discussed.

/m1646 Maybe I misunderstood. I thought SPMS was about scanning the collection boxes, or maybe the one where we scan when we have all the mail up in the box section, not about counting anything. But I've been wrong before!
