My PM and Allen and ^*^*^ are all very knowledgeable and good at answering the work questions I ask. Lord knows I can come up with the questions. I like to ask questions. Well heck, every one on this board has answered questions for me at one time or another and all answers are appreciated.

/m1664 I don't know. It might be easier on you to just pay what they say you owe.

I keep all mine, but seems like once you get your W-2 for the year, that you shouldn't need them anymore.

/m1662 I know what ya mean. Went into my office today, had about 1/2 inch of water on floor. The building leaks, the water is seeping in from the slab. I mopped up water for 2 hours today, just to open my lobby. My office also had no power, was extremely hot. My wonderful husband came and brought me our Generator from home. At least I had some fans blowing, felt like air conditioner. Talked to MPOO also today by chance, and he said Generators are on the way. And that I had gone Above and Beyond the call of duty to provide service for my office and customers. I hope he remembers everything I have done for this office, when it's time to appoint a PM to this office. I was also told that I would get reinbursed for all my expenses. I even managed to download scanner today with my Generator. Not much in sales today, I had a Nil-Bill. First one in awhile. I would assume everyone is working at home, or just trying to get the basic nessities. Communications are still pretty bad, I have no phone working in office, I need a rotary dial phone. My cell has no reception at my office, so I am basically cut off from everyone when I'm at work. I may try to hook up Ace Computer to Generator tomorrow, but if I have no internet service it's useless. Time to go rest, can't wait to get into a tub of cold water.

/m1668 I keep all my pay stubs so I can verify that I have 412 hours as a 204B in 1985. That kind of stuff is not entered in my OPF.

/m1670 thought you had electricity at home? why the "cold" tub? You probably already know this but by your opening and doing the best you can provides a place for others to share info, to remind others that life WILL get back to normal. Good for you in getting back and doing what is needed. Please pace yourself. No doubt it can get overwhelming. I find your swapping around power to do scanners really dedicated, especially with mopping and no power except a generator. I am suprised, we have not heard anything internally about mail delivery to your area(maybe still awaiting assessment) We're already taking in care packages from relatives sending to MS and LA (I have been advising that I don't know what to expect on delivery as we've not been advised of what areas are out of commission) Do you know of any info regarding mail flow? And yes, I too, hope the MPOO will remember what you've done. Again. its one day at a time. I am reminded of how much I loved my small community after Ivan. Before the Red Cross and governmental agencies got moving into the area and it was just "us" . . . the definition of neighbor goes beyond who lives next door and extended to ANYONE that was in need. What a good feeling to be able to help others and what humbling experience to have others help us. I was blessed to be able to convey info and put strangers together (this person needed this, that person could help with that) during those times because I was in the Post office. No doubt you'll do the same. Keep us posted!

Tropical storm Hannah is here at the Jersey shore. So far just strong winds and a little rain. We needed the rain . It's been about 24 days since we have seen rain. Possible flooding later tonight.
PO received info. and phone #s on who to contact if we had an emergency situation at the PO because of the weather.
Last I knew, I am the emergency contact if something comes up with the PO because I live close by.

Hurricane aftermath, Postal maintence guy showed up Friday at 10:00 am with Generator. He was surprised I was using mine from home. He put USPS Generator on for me, and proceeded to plug and set some things up for me. I finally got a call Sat. morning that Power was back on. So USPS was a little to late with Generator. But with IKE maybe knocking on our door, I won't be to quick to call them to pick it up.
A cold bath is always best, when you have been as hot as we were. It was wonderful.
Our Mail trucks started running mail on Wednesday. One day after storm. I also received visitors from the Building Assessement team out of Dallas and Postal Police Thursday. They too had asked me who's Generator I was using. Told then it was mine from home. They could not beleive I would go thru all that trouble for my office. I told them if they had to stay in an office for 8 hours with no windows to open, they would find a way to run at least a fan. Which is what I did. I also had my scanner hooked up and a adding machine and scale so I could run my window service. The were very impressed, I guess, cause I was a woman and knew how to hook up all kinds of things in my office so I could operate it with no problems.
Allen. I e-mailed MPOO daily with updates on my office. I also told him the situation I'm in concerning my job. Asked him to call or come see me when things settle down. I want him to realize what a dedicated employee I am and what the USPS will be losing. He was very kind and considerate in his e-mails. Can't wait to meet him to discuss some issues.

Thanks, I just will have a lot of computor work to catch up on. Haven't logged onto e-moves in over a week. Monday is gonna be busy. On top of all this I caught a bad cold. I guess it's from being in the heat all week. Starting to feel a little better today.

CajunOIC sorry to hear of the cold but glad to hear power is back on for you. I imagine you still have much clean up with that water that was on the floor. Was that due to flooding? didn't read any roof damage.
Sounds pretty good that various assessments have been made but they're not passing this info on.
I must admit am a bit disappointed in the news coverage and USPS coverage of service. News seemed to be so focused on New Orleans and not surrounding areas. We have a people from our area that are in these areas helping and yet no news regarding them and their needs. And we've yet to see anything on any postal processing problems or delivery delays.
And geez, what a season. FWD gets Hannah storm and we're looking at Ike coming into the Gulf now.

No damage to roof on building, the building is lower than the highway its on, so the water drains toward building, thus causing the water to seep through the slab into building. We are also keeking an eye on IKE. I don't wish it on anyone else in the Gulf area, but we don't need another Hurricane so soon, after Gustav. Some people are still without power, water. Ike will just add to the misery and recovery.
