I am so surprised that the Commack/Sherwood issue has not been brought up on this site...Per a quote from Ms. Romano in the Islip Bulletin yesterday (2/14) it appears everything will remain status quo. Which means the educational needs of CRES students are NOT being met as per the school watch mission statement. The per pupil spending and resources are not equal among the elementary schools - there are 4th grade classrooms at SES that have 18 students vs. CRES 4th grade classrooms that have 23 students, that is not fair and equitable distribution of resources among students. CRES parents need to step up to the plate and be loud and clear that ALL Islip District students deserve the SAME - The upsoming Budget needs to be watched very carefully because given uncertain economic times, it may not pass and the first things to be cut will be CRES teachers as in the past...
