Interested in who else is in the community, and where? Check out our 'PupMap.
It's based on the freebie frappr.com utility. If you'd like to join, there's a little orange Join! button at the upper left of the map. You even get to declare your political pref (and gender too) when picking your pin.
Please include a "shoutout" (a small phrase in the "balloon" that appears when folks click on your pin – those shoutouts help us understand who we all are and how we're bound together!), and perhaps you've got a teenchy graphic for your balloon...and maybe a fave pic you'd like to U/L to our slideshow? :)
Don't worry about pinpointing your house! All I seem to be able to give it is a City, State or ZIP within the USA, and it puts the pin right in the middle. It seems to recognize major worldwide cities, so if you live in some burg in Western Foobistan, try to see whether Frappr knows its capital.
If you upload a pic for the slide-show, please include a caption, either something about "What 'PupLand Means To Me" or maybe something fun about the pic.Sometimes when you "put in your pin" or upload a pic, it doesn't show up right away. You're not the first to notice that "HEY, it doesn't show up! I better do it again!" And if you do, sometimes you get duplicates.
It turns out that if you exit the map and then return to it, or maybe refresh the browser, Lo and Behold the first pic you uploaded is there. And maybe the second one too! Methinx this is because Frappr just takes awhile to incorporate newly-uploaded stuff. Sometimes I notice a duplicated pic in the "slide-show" and then with my Magic Admin Wand I can clobber the duplicate. I don't know whether normal users can clobber their own pix.
If you find you've uploaded your pic >1ce and you'd like one of 'em clobbered, drop a post here, describing the pic so I can look for two of 'em and clobber the least recent. I'm subscribed here. Or you could just send me offline email, perhaps normally, perhaps thru the Frappr anonymous messaging system. Whatever works for you.
If you don't have any pix to upload... no worries on that score. You can go ahead and join w/o a pic, and then not add anything to the slideshow. Just please pick a pin-color and pin-type on the way in. And please also include a "Shout-out" that'll appear in your "balloon" when you (or anyone else) click on your pin. Those shout-outs are really fun because they provide a quick glimpse into what other FirePups are thinking.
