FYI: To the subscribers of ‘ thedrivewaygear bulletin board’, there is another cycling group located in the Wytheville/Marion area which is very active in promoting cycling and organized rides. They are ‘ SouthWest Virginia Cyclist’ and the link to their bulletin board is http://www.quicktopic.com/36/H/vVZjJZvuXCU2p . Jason Hamm is the bulletin board and website administrator; the group generally has one or two organized rides every week. Check them out today.

I believe I am going to call off the Black Friday Creeper trail ride seemed to not have to many interested in it. As far as rides looks like there might be a couple road rides developing in the Wytheville area this weekend in its place

THIS IS A TEST: I'm testing the water to see if there is enough interest to call a social ride on the New River Trail for Friday, day after Thanksgiving?
Could leave the Train Station in Pulaski, take the Trail Extension from there and ride as far as the group is comfortable with. Suggested times are 10:00am or 1:00pm or 2:00 pm.
Are you interested? A follow-up confirm post will be submitted if there is enough interest.

You failed to mention that this is an INSANITY test.
You noticed the forecast for highs of 40 with a 40-50% chance of rain?
I'll go. I recommend beginning at 10:00 and riding to Ivanhoe and back for a metric century.

FRIDAY RIDE? Gotta be kidding! The chance of snow in the morning is 40%; a chance of rain between 12:00 - 4:00 is 40%; cloudy all day; wind 19 - 20 mph. It doesn't look good at all. So, weather permitting (that means if it is not snowing or raining at the time), I will be in the parking lot across from the Train Station at 10:00am for a social ride on the NR Trail. You in?
