Unfortunately there comes a time when ministries that are not thriving need to be discontinued. After MUCH time in prayer a decision has been made to close down the Celebrate Recovery Ministry that I was leading at the Robeson Baptist Association. Maybe sometime in the future Hyde Park will undertake this endeavor. Thank you for your prayers and your support for this ministry.

Reminder church family. This will be the last Sunday in this month for our church food drive. We are in need of the items listed on the cards at church. The food that we have collected won't last very long. Remember to pick up some of the items when you go the grocery store this week and bring them Sunday morning.

Tammie Britt Father, Daniel Tanner passed away. The visitation is tomorrow night (Friday) from 7-9 @ Floyds in Fairmont and the funeral service is Saturday @ 2PM @ Floyds in Fairmont.

Hey! I know I haven't posted on here in awhile but i need some prayer warriors to start praying. I don't know if you know or not but i have a 2nd job working on the college campus of UNCP at BSU...and every wednesday night after our church time, I go back to the campus and help lead a Bible study for freshmen girls.
This is where my prayer request comes in...there are a lot of hurting girls in this group going through plenty of different things. One in particular called me tonite, while we were in our night of worship. This girl, she has been on my heart since we started bible study. She is the one that made me realize that not everyone knows about Christ. When i had been telling people about our bible studies starting up, she had asked me what is a Bible study? and made me realize you can't just assume people know what a bible study is...there are people on this campus that are lost and need to hear about Christ. Great news is she came to our first bible study and has been every week since we have started last month. The first week we met though she told us about her mother...her mom was diagnosed at the beginning of this summer telling her that her cancer was now terminal and there was nothing more they could do for her. I called this girl, Stephanie back tonite to see what was going on....last week her mom, was put in the hospital because a valve in her small intestine was blocked and was supposed to be simple procedure...however, I was informed tonite that they can't do anything more for her mom...She is back home but in hospice care with an oxygen tank. Please be in prayer for Stephanie Kerns and for her family...I'm not sure if they have a relationship with the Lord..but i pray that through Laura and myself as Bible Study leaders that we can continue to be sisters in Christ to her and show her what Christ's Love is and how God is there and you are never alone. Pray for her dad and for the rest of her family cause saying goodbye is never easy...and that we can pray for comfort during this difficult time right now...
