This class is for women who struggle with hurts, habits and hang-ups.

Class Two:
Philippians: To Live is Christ & to Die is Gain
Join Mike P as we walk through the book of Philippians with Pastor Matt Chandler of the Village Church. In this, one of the most intimate of Paul's letters, he paints a beautiful picture of what it is to be a mature Christian

“He was the meekest and lowliest of all the sons of men, yet he spoke of coming on the clouds of heaven with the glory of God. He was so austere that evil spirits and demons cried out in terror at his coming, yet he was so genial and winsome and approachable that the children loved to play with him, and the little ones nestled in his arms. His presence at the innocent gaiety of a village wedding was like the presence of sunshine.
No one was half so compassionate to sinners, yet no one ever spoke such red hot scorching words about sin. A bruised reed he would not break, his whole life was love, yet on one occasion he demanded of the Pharisees how they ever expected to escape the damnation of hell. He was a dreamer of dreams and a seer of visions, yet for sheer stark realism He has all of our stark realists soundly beaten. He was a servant of all, washing the disciples feet, yet masterfully He strode into the temple, and the hucksters and moneychangers fell over one another to get away from the mad rush and the fire they saw blazing in His eyes.
He saved others, yet at the last Himself He did not save. There is nothing in history like the union of contrasts which confronts us in the gospels. The mystery of Jesus is the mystery of divine personality.”
- James Stewart

"My Jesus would never be accepted in my church. The blood and dirt on His feet might stain the carpet. But He reaches for the hurting and despises the proud, and I think He'd prefer Beale St. to the stained glass crowd."
- Todd Agnew

“Too often we see the Bible through whatever lens we get from our culture.”
- Brian McLaren

“‘Not called!’ did you say? ‘Not heard the call,’ I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there. Then look Christ in the face - whose mercy you have professed to obey - and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.”
- William Booth

"The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed"
- Hudson Taylor

“Perhaps if there were more of that intense distress for souls that leads to tears, we should more frequently see the results we desire. Sometimes it may be that while we are complaining of the hardness of the hearts of those we are seeking to benefit, the hardness of our own hearts and our feeble apprehension of the solemn reality of ¬eternal things may be the true cause of our want of success.”
- Hudson Taylor

“The attitude of the average Christian today is relax and be raptured. But He is coming… and when God gets angry you’ve no idea what it is. Like a thousand volcanoes exploding. He has appointed a day in which He is going to judge the world and the poor blind world doesn’t know much about it and the poor blind church doesn’t think much about it now.”
- Leonard Ravenhill

“A preacher who preaches the truth uncompromisingly will be asked, “Does your preaching always have to be so pointy? Does it always have to be so sharp?” And of course the answer is no. He can blunt his message if he’d like and become just as dull as the average preacher.”
- Jesse Morrell

“It is not our business to make the message acceptable, but to make it available. We are not to see that they like it, but that they get it.”
- Dr. Vance Havner

“The invasion of the Church by the world is a menace to the extension of Christ’s Kingdom. In all ages conformity to the world by Christians has resulted in lack of spiritual life and a consequent lack of spiritual vision and enterprise. A secularized or self-centered Church can never evangelize the world.”
- John R. Mott

“Oh my friends, we are loaded with countless church activities, while the real work of the church, that of evangelizing and winning the lost, is almost entirely neglected.”
- Oswald J. Smith

“To be right with God has often meant to be in trouble with men.”
- A.W. Tozer

“Many do not recognize the fact as they ought, that Satan has got men fast asleep in sin and that it is his great device to keep them so. He does not care what we do if he can do that. We may sing songs about the sweet by and by, preach sermons and say prayers until doomsday, and he will never concern himself about us, if we don’t wake anybody up. But if we awake the sleeping sinner he will gnash on us with his teeth. This is our work – to wake people up.”
- Catherine Booth

Thank you all for the prayers for mom and dad....Herbert and Dru West. Daddy is in CFV rehab, doing much better. Mama is at home, missing dad, and doing more than she should. It is so wonderful to have a church family who supports you in prayer.

Just wanted to let everyone know that after discussions between Pastor and some leadership that there will be NO SERVICES AT HYDE PARK tomorrow. We discussed whether or not we could pull off an early afternoon gathering for those of us who felt we could come gather - after much thought we decided that, not knowing what conditions will be tomorrow afternoon, we may still be putting people at risk if we try to gather. So...

THERE WILL BE NO SERVICES AT HYDE PARK ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 31st.

As you spend your day, remember that tomorrow was scheduled to be our day of Prayer and Fasting. We are asking you to dedicate 24 hours beginning at 3pm until the following day at 3pm to prayer and seeking the face of God for our church (pastor search committee), the spiritual condition of our nation and the spiritual condition of the churches of our nation.

Please help us to spread this news - all of your friends who may not receive this email or utilize facebook or twitter - please give them a call.

Thanks so much - be safe in this weather, seek Jesus with all of your hearts - we will see you Wednesday!

With other brands of boots, you might have to choose one pair for your entire winter, because they are much too expensive. However, Uggs on sale are affordable, so if you want to, you can choose more than one pair for your winter wear. This allows you to be able to have outdoor outfits that make you look and feel just as good as the outfits that you are wearing indoors. Winter time does not need to be a time where you are out of style - with the warmth and comfort of Sundance Uggs. Here Ugg ultra short is waiting for you.
