So then, I've got a bunch of stuff, but none of what you're looking for, but I'll link somethings you might like:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpa...56&page=submissions (I recommend Bonded, cause it's the one I read).

http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpa...08&page=submissions (I like Out On A Limb).

http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpa...39&page=submissions (This person has a ton of stories, and since I saved it, there must be a few good ones).

And so yeah, I'll let you process those. Heh, I'm a slight (read large) romantic so... yeah. *grin*

If you are into Sci/fi with time travel, you'd really like Dan Kirk's Do Over Saga... and even his Dreams Saga... http://dkstories.gayauthors.org/

If you are into Vampire stories, I'd recommend Julien Gregg's The Vampire Saga.... http://juliengregg.authorshaunt.com/

And if you're into sappy love stories, I'd recommend Julien again.

If you prefer action/adventure, C James is an awesome read... http://cjames.gayauthors.org/

Have fun... :)

Quick question, I know some of ya'll have written some pretty neat stories but out of curiosity; and this is about the source of inspiration for the piece, but has anybody ever been moved by a song to the point that it conjured up a story that you just felt that it needed to be written?

To tell you the truth, songs don't inspire me....visuals and thoughts do... But, that's just me... :D

really, what kind of medium?

Depends...sometimes, they're my own thoughts, or sometimes it is a visual on the Tele...It may even be something that I see around me. There is a story waiting to be told in each and every aspect of our lives...

The worst/best method for my story ideas are my dreams, though. I have lost count of the number of times I have got up in the middle of the night to write my dream down so that I can work on it later.... :D

You mentioned using dreams as an inspiration, you ever have trouble writing dreams in a story? I feel like its a cop out, but that's just on my insecurity in developing a character well enough that it can work with a dream sequence.

Do you mean writing a dream sequence in a story itself? If that is the case, then yes, I have tried it. As a matter of fact, the site I am hosted at, is currently running a Writing Project on this very subject...

http://writingprojects.authorshaunt.com/

Check out the Dreamscapes writing project there. There are some awesome stories there, and I intend to write one for it as well. I have everything set out, just have to write it.

When it boils down, using dreams in stories is just another medium to tell it. One can tell a story in n number of ways. Authors Haunt is going to conduct an anthology of stories written through letters. Before the anthology was announced, I had never thought that writing a story like that could be possible, but now I am contemplating ideas as to how I can pull it off.

Taking part in such projects/anthologies tests your writing skills and helps you hone them. I, for one, have benefited a lot from them. :) And I am sure you'll find them useful as well. Especially the Dreamscapes one...

that's so interesting, what I find hard to do when writing a story is a charged scene. I usually lose momentum when I write scenes where people are arguing.

I think the key to that is imagining yourself in that situation. I am sure you must have enacted out arguments a number of times in your head before going into the one you know is going to happen.

Take, for example, a child with a pathetic report card. He knows he is going to get a verbal bashing for his abysmal grades, so he prepares his answers (and answers to his counter-answers) well in advance.

I find this tactic quite useful when writing confrontations. Imagine yourself as one person and then argue his/her point and then get the replies as you would anticipate them. Then, viola, you have a scene all ready... :)

I hope I was clear, 'cause I was seriously rambling.. :D

Chimera, I've had several inspirations from songs. Unfortunately, the scenes that go with the songs need so much set up that I never get to them.

Beast, I've seen a story written entirely in news articles before. You're right, though. There are so many different ways to tell stories, it boggles the mind.

Pyth, news articles are easier to write. Technically, they are like telling a story only. Letters are generally more private and not narrative. :)

"BeaStKid" I like your ramblings so it's all cool with me :-)
I agree with you "Pythian" there are so many ways to write that it's daunting.
"james" that's a really good song how'd you come across it?
