all,

ok, since no one has had any objections to it, we will have the draft tuesday, dec. 29th at my apt., starting at 6:30.

the draft procedure will be different this year however. we will be doing a "serpentine" style draft. for those familiar with fantasy football you know what i mean, but for those who dont the procedure is this: the first round will go, for example, 1-10, with the second round starting with the team who had the last pick in the first round having the first pick in the second, with the team picking 1st in the 1st picking last in the second, and so on.

holdover picks have also been eliminated, as these were used to balance out the returning teams who wouldnt have a shot at a top pick against new teams who were to draft first. this should also make things a bit more exciting this year as last years draft, to be honest, kinda sucked until the second half of the draft.

the fee is $30 as usual, and as much as i liked the awards im going to get rid of them for the 2010 season and award payouts as to where each team places. this way each team gets a taste of the action. the winner will still get the biggest chunk, and the last place team will stillget the sacajawea coin (which i still owe you haut from 08). what everyone else gets is TBD.

please bring some sort of food or drink item, as we wont have the big lunchmeat tray weve had the past few years. i look forward to seeing you all a week from today!

sportscaster George Michael of sports machine fame didn't make it on anyone's roster or to see this Christmas... poor bastard.

Fuck Keith...

I'll be you're West Coast contingent on Tuesday likely selecting for myself and Matt, will be at work for part of the 6:30 EST, 3:30 PST draft. Maybe I'll take Bart up to the Dog Park mid-draft to commemorate moments from past deadie drafts. I trust someone there in Cleveland will take care of eating the raw bacon and passing out on the sex doll...

Oh, thank god! I thought my favorite half of the 80's duo Wham! had passed away. Fortunately, there's still time for pop star George Michael to re-record "I Want Your Sex," this time dedicated to Elton John.

In other news, Andrew Ridgley is still kickin' and married to a chick from Bananarama (true story).

Wride: maybe you and I can text info for the first few rounds and you can send your picks that way?

Hey guys. I will not be able to call into the draft. However, I will give Burkhart and Wride a list so that they can use it to make my picks. Good luck to everyone, and I wish I could be there in person. Burkhart and/or Ben better get drunk and do something embarrassing tomorrow or I will be seriously dissapointed.

I still can't believe I couldn't get Maria De Aragon, a.k.a. Greedo, through.

News a little too late...Rush Limbaugh hospitalized for chest pains in Hawaii. How has his bloated visage never been picked yet?

When does the year start? If Travis Pastrana dies at 12:01 east coast time. Does his death count?

Artie Lange always the bridesmaid never the bride. Damm his mother for finding him and calling 911.

And so it begins... The Celebrity Coffin Jockeys second pick, 12th overall in this year's draft, Miep Gies becomes the first victim of the year dying today at the age of 100.

Did anyone pick Rue Macallahan? She's had a shit ton of health problems and just had a stroke. Also, fellow Golden Girls Estelle Getty and Bea Arthur have fallen in recent years. Can't afford to pass her up or Betty White in the future.

Disappointed we missed this one: Congressman John Murtha (D-PA), who apparently had been sick for awhile after a gallbladder surgery, dead at 77.

Yeah. If only YOU had picked him or Rue McClanahan. See, all the rest of us were busy making serious picks and didn't really have room on our rosters.

If only they had been in Star Wars...
