I really wasn't passing along any new information. I found out that Commander Munchy has AOL and every time he gets an email, it announces, "You've got mail!". Well, when Joe hears that he runs upstairs to check his computer for the mail. The purpose of this post was just to cause Joe to have to run upstairs.

I don't believe we have taken a GPS reading. But I have a handheld gps device that we can use on Saturday.

My Dodge Dakota is a good bit shorter than your full size truck. It will probably fit under the shade cloth easily.

ps: It's too bad Obama Joe is going to miss out on the fun.

We used concreate and brought water in bleach jugs and milk jugs which we brought 5 but used 2 and also used post hole digers to dig the hole so it was a litle wider than the width of the stone so the packed earth helped set it, that worked good I have post hole digers plus Bill Morgan has a footer shovel. Also is there a GPS marking for the Grave and is it registered?

It looks like it is tall enough we can set it deep and it should stay there with no problem.
If you want to set some concrete in the hole with it that will be ok also. If my truck is to tall to get in the fernery maybe someone will be there with a small truch that will fit.

Ben Johnson will be in South Carolina with his daughter enrolling her into College, He wil not be there.
I emailed pictures and info to the Sheriff's historian so they will know where he is located.

Commander Munchy called me today and said he has plans for next Saturday, so he won't be able to make it. He said something about being at a Obama fundraiser. I told him that is much more important and he should not miss that.

If it is only 15 or 20 feet away from where we can get a truck, I'm sure it will be no problem for two to carry it. Do we think we should use some concrete to put around the base. If we think it would help we can even dry set the stone. The concrete will set over time and with rain. I've done a few like that and they have turned out quite well.

Jay and I carried one about 30 feet with not much of a problem, I can get a hand truck from work also that could help. Plan on me being there, we can talk more about it on line or Thursday.
George give me a call when you get a chance please.

I can drive my truck to the site, It is in one of the cross over roads next to the pump hous and we can carry the stone 15 ft to where it is to go. I am standing near the road when I took the picture of the three headstones that are there.

I just talked to Joe Strickland and th 13th is no problem, I have a DAR meeting that afternoon so need to do it in the morning.
I will call Ben Johnson tomorow and see if he wants to attend.
How many can make it?

How far is the entrance to the grave site? Will we need something, like a wagon or trailer to roll the stone to the site? We might need to make something so that several of us can lift and carry it to spread out the weight. 200 pounds is not bad for 50 feet, but it feels much heavier if going 500 feet.

You can drive to the entrance of the fernery but not to the grave site, I need to Contact Joe Strickland when we set a date so he will not be surprised. He has it leased from Pasco Cade
Haven't heard from Ben so doubt he wants to do anything, Will call him tomorrow to make sure.

Bill, if the sheriff's office is not going to put an inscription on the headstone, maybe we can plan on setting the stone next Sat 9/13(hurricanes permitting of course).

Do you know if we can drive up to the cemetery site, or will we need to hoof it in through the fernery?
