Fair day!
I hankering that chose the set subdivision of it for asking your assuredly , if not, sorry.
I do not undoubtably continually go to the forums. And my, my prepare doubts is what is:
How do you deliberate on how sober the question of toll increases, and whether it is plausible far-reaching shock,
the deed data that already event, namely: Rising grub guerdons has transformed subsistence into an global gclosednmental issue.
Riots pull someone's leg erupted in Egypt, Haiti and Bangladesh remaining soaring grub tolls.
People fought one another closed bags of rice in West Africa.
The causes and the solutions to the grub turning-point are complex.
Iif not tough and you make your notion on this, cheer come back, I am least interested to pick up your conception.
Tthank you
P.S. Sorry for my english.

Interesting question. Not all alleles (gene variants) are shared among human strains. Examples of such strain specific genes are really rare , but, as written here: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/16/science/16gene.html
genes involved in skin color are part of this group. So, except for albino cases (but being albino is a genetic sickness), it is extremely rare if not impossible that black people generate white one and viceversa.

Is Robert suspicious about something ;)?

However, as written here ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4531966.stm ), all genes involved in skin pigmentation excpet one are unknown. So, we don't know if all skin pigmentation genes tend to be strain specific.

Can I ask a question on genetics here? I would like to know whether it's possible for two black people to give birth to a white child and vice versa (two white people with let's say, black grandpa, can they have a black child in theory?), speaking of skin colour. In case the black parents have white ancestors, how probable would that be? Are there any statistics on that? Mendel's genetics don't get me very far, to be honest.

This is a real raw protocol you can follow, waiting for more informations from you.

Find the protein sequences on NCBI
Analize their domains in Pfam
Align human and sheep aa sequences in Expasy
Write your conclusions.

Here you can find a lot, maybe: http://pfam.janelia.org/

It is quite difficult to me to get your question in German. What do you need? The tools to make the analysis, the sequences, the possible explanation of the evolution of all the peptide hormones produced by the pituitary gland^of human being and sheep? Cheers,

Hallo zusammen! Thema Evolution:

Thank you! I'm afraid ladybugs wouldn't work as our tomatoes are outside and I can't force them to stay there...but I bought a product on the basis of stinging nettles and now I hope the problem wil be gone soon...Unfortunately we had some good storms here recently, too.

Dear Iris, as my colleague told me, ladybugs are happy to eat lice. You can buy ladybugs in internet or just go around and find them. To prevent other lice to go on your tomatoes, you can cut stinging nettle plants, smash them properly (wear gloves before!) and put them at the base of the plants. Again my colleague told me you can put tomatoes together with bellpepper plants: lice prefer bellpeppers to tomatoes.

Maybe it's a stupid question to ask a biologist, but the current problem I have is: We are growing tomatoes for the first time and now they have some kind of lice. Do you know anything they don't like and that will make them go away forever? I don't want to use chemicals. In plant forums they recommend either nicotine, soap sud or a brew of stinging nettles. I also read garlic, which would be my preferred choice. Any experiences? Thank you! :)

To the rare new visitors of the BIO forum of Lorana:

This is a separate place from Lorana "The Blog". Here you can put questions about biological topics. Not many, 'til now. This means ordinary media already explained quite a lot. If they're right, this is another question :-/

Dear Stasia, you're speaking about Euphorbia pulcherrima. What you see red are not leaves, but bractae, which are organs to protect the proper flowers (yellow) that you can see at the top of the stem (here: http://www.okstate.edu/ag/asnr/hortla/need...on/id/poinseta.html). As the main function of bractae is not to make photosynthesis, they are not green. Other example of colored bractaeis the Buganville (here: http://www.piante-e-arbusti.it/buganvillea.htm).

Und warum manche Pflanzen haben immer rote Blätter und nicht grüne? Diese Pflanzen kann man in der Weihnachtszeit in allen Geschäften sehen. Ich weiß leider nicht genau, wie sie heißen…

Today in our University some scientists distribute cakes prepared with transgenic wheat. Target of this initiative are school pupils. Goal of this initiative is to make people closer to GMO. More or less what Columbus did with glass necklaces for American native tribes.
