Great to see the Road Kill column back in the Rag. Thanks, Mike! I always thought it embodied the spirit of the club. Also, my trip east has me back in my shorts, doing short runs on trails. did a 4 miler -- my longest in years, last week, and I'm starting to enjoy it again. Any of you oldies interested in Hood to Coast in August 2010? (too late for this years race) It would be a blast to run with the gang out here in Oregon.

Puma is looking for some woman runners to be wear testers for them.
Must be size 7.
Hi All,

It seems that we could use some more Competitive Women Runners, size 7. Also, we have gotten a few Women's Track & Field (basic) Spikes, also in Women's 7.

So if you know of any size 7 dedicated Runners, have them contact us.

Thanks,

Congrats to Maureen on a great Run for the Roses last night! The nice weather was a bonus, thanks for arranging no lightning :) There's a write-up in the paper about it, and check out the great photos that Ted Tyler took. Oh yeah, and thanks to Chip-n-Dale beer babes filling the ladies cups at the post-race!

(From New Balance)
Hello Winner's Circle Running Club!

The New Balance Sports Research Lab is in need of runners to participate in
running related research and testing. I was wondering if we could get into
your newsletter and/or onto the home page of your web site. Your members
would have the opportunity to come in to our state of the art Sports
Research Lab in Lawrence and utilize some of the most technical equipment
in the world. We would get study and testing participants to help us
develop the best products on the market and your members would, aside from
a very cool experience, get gear such as tshirts and shoes, etc. If this
is a possibility, I have added some text below that outlines what we are
looking for. Thank you very much for your time.

The recently completed New Balance Sports Research Lab in Lawrence, MA is
looking for runners! Check out a short segment done on our lab by WBZTV (
http://wbztv.com/bostonmarathon/boston. ... 84934.html). We are constantly
doing research and product testing related to running, but in order to do
this research and testing we need athletes! A typical trip would involve
about an hour in our Sports Research Lab with our trained experts using our
state of the art equipment. As compensation, we will let you keep a pair of
awesome New Balance running shoes. We are especially interested in men who
are size 9.5 because this is the size we create prototype shoes in. We are
also very interested in women who are a size 7. If you are not that size,
don't worry because we often do other studies and testing where we are
looking for other sizes. If you would like to help us out, see a research
lab unlike any other, and get a new pair of the finest running shoes around
, email us!

Just send us a quick email with your name and contact information to
sportsresearch@newbalance.com. Also include your age, shoe size and
activity level! That's it! We look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks.

The New Balance Sports Research Team

Hi,
I wanted to use this forum to alert people to a position open in the Pentucket Regional School District for an accountant. The economy is so bad right and I thought that someone may know someone who is out of work. The position requires a BS in accounting. Please send a resume and three letters of recommendation to kmcwilliams@prsd.org or via mail to PRSD 22 Main Street West Newbury MA 01985.
Go the the district's web site- prsd.org to learn a bit about the district.
Thanks,
Kathy McWilliams

Breaking news...from a friend & fellow runner:

I got a note from Tina Kimball. She and Mark were out running last night and Mark got hit by a truck. He's going to be okay--bruised lungs but no broken bones. They were on East road when a car hit a truck and then the truck spun and hit Mark. He's in Lawrence General now and was in critical condition for a while. Ugh. You never think that kind of thing is going to happen. Be careful out there.
