Track Update. The club Board of Directors voted to pay the fee for the track upfront and to charge participants just $20 for the 6-8 week session. Thank them. Now we are working on securing the Governor's Academy track for tuesday evenings beginning in Jan. The 'official time; for us is 8:30-9:30, but we probably will be able to get in much earlier-at least to stretch and do a light warm-up as the session before is local H.S. teams who we know and support quite a bit. The track is just short of 200meters, 3 pretty narrow lanes, and plenty of room in 'infield'. This is a great opportunity to get together with other members and turn the legs over a bit while getting out of the cold and ice.

If anybody lost a nice pair of black GORE-TEX gloves near the finish line of today's Toys for Tots run at the Sweetsir school in Merrimac, I have them and will bring them to the mtg. on Thursday.

Thanks Adam, the gloves are mine. Must of dropped them about a dozen times, I was bound to lose them!
And thanks to everyone who volunteered, ran, or both at yesterday's Toy Trot race. I'm told it was the biggest turnout ever. A great day for a race, a little chilly but lots of smiling people (check out Ted Tyler's pictures). I'm grateful to all the club members who knew exactly what to do, even if I did not:
Carol (the woman knows all), Vicki (make that 2 women), Tom (you did everything), Mike F (thanks for not killing me), Derek and Mike M (for not killing anyone with Strouty Towers), Bob R (for knowing everyone), Maryann (POST Reg Queen), Paul (lug those boxes), Kate (got anymore t-shirts?) Timmy and Curt (got anymore beer?), Deb and Jimmy (chicken soup was good), Chip (1 mile man) Adam and Dave C (cold day for the water stop), Gary and John W (timing guru guys) Byron (hope you got your voice back), Dave L (you never seem to lose yours), Pam (reg and timing), Sharon and Dave (for my many stupid questions). I know I'm forgetting a bunch of people, but Santa was there and he knows that you were good. Thanks for everything!! Kristen

Was that a record number of runners @ the Hangover? 897. Looking at the results since 2000 it appears so.
Congrats to Bob Manning and all the rest of the volunteers for making this successful. Thanks for taking the time out on New Years Day to help out.
Very "cool" ocean dip glass too.

Great job by the Circle yesterday! My time was right on the money from what I had on my watch.
Shout out to all the volunteers who braved the elements once again to ensure a safe and enjoyable(?) run!

I forgot to mention the other night at the general meeting that it was only through Mike Menesale's years of trying to get Puma involved with the High Street Mile that we were able to get Puma committed to sponsorship. Mike has been shoe tester for Puma for years and he was able to get Puma interested in the race. Thanks Mike!

We are pulling together a training run for Sunday 1/20 to run the Great Bay Half course - with many people training for Boston planning to add on. The plan is to meet at the Newmarket High School Sunday morning and be ready to run at 8:00am. You will need to pack a fuel belt if you need one, this will not be a supported run, but there will be lots of good company for all pace levels. Hope to see you Sunday :)
