The Circle's Bus to Boston has about 20 seats left. Don't miss out if you need a seat! I will be at the WCRC meeting this Thursday if you want to reserve a seat. Aplications are on the Circle's web site!

From: jenkarin@mac.com Subject: AJH looking for runners for heart health awareness Date: Fri, 8 Jan 2010 14:42:18 -0500 To: jgangemi@hotmail.com
Dear John, and the members of the WCRC,
Anna Jaques Hospital is about to embark on an important Heart Disease Awareness and Prevention public service campaign involving the seven communities in our service area.
Using the timing of the Winter Olympics, and Heart Disease Awareness Month, AJH will have a team of runners and heart disease survivors carrying a torch (battery-operated not fire!) from community to community from Sat. 2/13 through Sat. 2/27. In each town, town officials will accept the torch and declare that day Heart Disease Awareness Day in their community.
We will be supporting the campaign with photo opps, twitter, facebook, and website updates along the way.
So, we need runners!
Could you help spread the word, and have interested runners contact me?
Thanks so much!!
Best regards,
Jennifer Karin

Boston Training Runs ( 17, 9, or 6 miles - see MapMyRun links below) this Sunday at the Chase's. Come on over whether you're running Boston or not. We'll plan on heading out around 9:00am. We are at 17 Cushing Street in Salisbury (978-462-0608) and for the 17 mile route will head to Salisbury Beach, then up Route 1 to Hampton turning just after A Street, then back to 286, to Rabbit Road to Baker Road. The 9 miles is the same as 17 but instead of continuing to Hampton Beach you take a left on 286 right away then to S. Main Street to Worthley Road to Seabrook Road to Gerrish Road to True Road to Cushing Street. We also have a 6 mile route planned out if anyone is interested in that distance. Best place for water for 17 and 9 mile routes is at intersection of Routes 1 and 286 (there is a green area there). Post run we'll have Eggs, Sausage, Waffles, Bagels, Fruits and Beverages etc. Email us at BigT1958@comcast.net if you're coming so we can plan accordingly. Thanks !!! 17 = http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/.../7371263349160335129 = http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/.../6671263354187599986 = http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/.../804126343706851245

Miss you guys! I am down 15 pounds and slowly coming back - have managed 7 miles a few times. Very slow - 8 minute miles feels like I'm hammering! I'm a bit appalled at the scarcity of races around Oregon this time of year. These weenies are afraid of a little rain?
Maybe 2011 at Mt Washington?

Ok, just got an email from Adidas running with the "Official Boston Marathon Gear" and ... I'm not impressed. Anyone know if there is better stuff offered at the expo or is this it? Thanks.

Have not gotten that email from BAA yet, but looking at the BAA site appears that some of the stuff is exactly the same as last years (blue and yellow jackets) - the black wind jackets are different. I was a little disappointed last year with the limited styles/selection offered with Adidas being the "sole" official gear provider. It's kind of "You either like the Adidas fit or you are out of options".

Like Lisa said the BAA usually has a vendor that sells jackets that aren't adidas and they fit me better also.

Hi kids... Just received some sad news from Sharon...it seems my/our "oldest" friend & long, long, time WCRC member, Ted Wendt has passed. Please take a moment out of your day to reflect upon the good times we all shared & the joy that he felt... whenever he entered the Winner's Circle Sports Bar. He loved to run, walk, drink, talk, help, listen, share, and talk some more...whatever it took...that was the man I knew...as long as it meant sharing good times amongst good friends...he was there. He often said, "that's what it's all about"...oh, Hell!! I'll miss the heck out of you Teddy!! Please give my best to Mildred.
