Anyone in the Amesbury/Salisbury/Newburyport area want to carpool to the Kennebunk 5 miler this Sunday (5/4-8:30 start time)? I guess it would also work out to meet up with folks along the way, going north on 95. Shoot me an e-mail at work if you are interested: michael.ruccio@noaa.gov.

Dale, best to run and not 'train'. Take it easy for a month or so-at least-if you want to be fully recovered
Boston can cause much muscle damage and/or tightness that may take a long time to go away.

Dale,
Just listen to your body...we're all different!! Myself? I've never been able to run a lick for a week after Boston...& even when I thought I was ready...the soreness came back after a few miles. You'll see others running the next day...and get this....some really crazy people have been seen running 5k races within the week. The way I see it...they didn't give their all at Boston...LOL.
Kudos to all of you...perhaps someday I'll attempt to run again...well, maybe...
Take care...

Just a survey. How long do you rest after a marathon? We ran 4.5 miles on Saturday at a very slow pace. Also thanks to the Vicki, Linda and Tom. The bus and room were great.

Thanks Vicki and Tom. Also thanks to Tommy R and Linda. I think you can see Matt's picture at the start on the front page of Tuesdays Boston Globe all the way to the right. The bus driver says he had an idea who broke the toilet.

Look at the effect that McCormick and Gurzak have on innocent marathon bystanders!

I second what Chip posted in regards to the bus/hotel organizing. Many thanks to Vicki for her hard work (and anyone else involved that I may not know about). The experience was a great one. But 'fess up - who broke the bus toilet?

I just wanted express my thanks to the Circle for a race number and the chance to run Boston this year with all of my WCRC running friends! Between the bus and the hotel room, the whole experience was top-notch. What else would you expect from the Circle?

The new track is at the new EHS on Epping Road in Exeter - I coach middle school track there. It is very busy this time of year. Highschool is on it every afternoon from 2:30-4:30, middle school 3-4 times a week from 4:30-6:00, plus 2-3 days a week is special olympics. We also host a good deal of the 6th, 7th, 8th & Highschool meets, which generally run until 7:00-7:30pm. I run there several days a week and there is only about 3/4 miles actual XC trails, the rest of the XC course is run in the parking lot, around the ball fields and a small retention pond - it is not even certified XC distance. And you are right, after last years EEE threat, NOBODY was allowed in the trails and they are now a mess. Actually went in part way today and there is still a good deal of standing water (it is very wet even in the summer months)on about 50% of the trail. The track at PEA in Exeter (off Court Street) has loads of XC trails around it and they are kept very well maintained. Hope that helps :) Give me a call if you have questions. Lisa
