I could never understand why Vancouver was the only city / town that was actually asked via a fererendum if they wanted the games. They passed it with a slim margin, but it passed. SO it would follow that any cost over runs should be picked up by them only! The people that bought Olympic licence plates can help out as well, they obviously have more money than they know what to do with.

Maybe that's the Prime Minister of England trying to raise money to help pay their horrendous (but usual) cost over runs on their Olympics

Larry01 - All I can say is that you two could be a real buzzkill at a party. I try to see the cup as half full rather than half empty. It's a better way to go through life. This thing is LONG a done deal, and I don't waste my time fighting something that can't be changed. If you put your efforts in at the beginning, and failed, then you stood up for your beliefs. I think you should just enjoy the festivities now so as not to ruin it for others.
In parting, a bit from Niebuhr's, The Serenity Prayer (1934):
"God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other."

Its quite clear to me that Ballbuster is an idiot.

The 2010 Olympics are on its way to being the financial ruin of Vancouver and prob BC too not to mention loss of democratic rights and freedoms.

Six billion dollars of expenses to garner $1 billion dollars of profit is NOT good business; but then what would you expect from a business failure like Gordon Campbell.

Mary in Calgary,
Wendybaby is my spouse, with these people we formed a group rallying against this event in Vancouver, Canada. We respect your opinion very much. But, mass consciousness has been proven scientifically. This is the best way to disable 2010 Olympics. Fighting for what we believe will not always be in a radical way, we have to be diplomatic. We can be more productive and be more educated if we will just use the power of our mind. We don't believe in radical protest.

to Larry 01 - To wish group subconscious ill on Canada's 2010 Olympics at this point...is far, far more disturbing to me than the business of seeing that the games happen. I wish a successful, well run, enobling and enjoyable experience for all international athletes and west coasters who have all worked so hard to bring this notable tradition to Vancouver/Whistler and to Canada.

2010 Olympic Prevarications!

Vexing over Olympic cost overruns and political lies, deception and manipulation by the B.C. Government plus cover-ups in the political system to push the elite interests of corporations and Olympic economic of interests.

To be perfectly ‘’honest’’ wait until party is over. Its will leave a legacy of debt loads, human misery by lack of funding for much needed social programs, health care and education not to mention a major erosion of environmental policies.

Curtailing free of speech and interference with peaceful protest. These security measures including security zones are violations of the ‘’People’s Charter of Rights’’.A police state is definitely happening in Vancouver, B.C. The civil liberties of Canadians are being eroded.

Just a friendly reminder of last spring 2009 election that the B.C. Government and official oppositions agreed before campaigning that they would not debate any related 2010 Olympic issues. This is not how a democracy works.

Vancouver and Whistler area could possibly be dealing with ‘’Flu- Pandemic’’ visitors from around the world would be spread man-made human infections.

Power of the mind your thoughts or prayer-whatever works for you? Yes ‘’Mass Consciousness’’ of the mind could change weather patterns to mildly warm conditions in southern B.C. rain, fog and windstorms could occur. Instead of complaining about 2010 Olympic Games we should direct our anger and frustration by focusing our intent on ‘’Mass Consciousness’’ for unfavorable weather conditions.

2010 Winter Olympic Games Legacy of debt occurring burden to working tax payers!

Actually I am stating well documented facts. Page after page games after games. All we get from the pro side is hype the one liners from the professional turd polishers that write for the committees nothing ever seems to be substantiated.

They all go down as the best attended because they all fill the stands with freebies at the last minute if necessary. The only way you will know the truth is with an honest open press who dig for the facts like they did in Calgary, Italy Melbourne, Montreal, Manchester, China and London just to mention a few economic disasters disguised as great sporting events. Hahaha!

This will go down in history as the most/best attended Winter Olympics. And the world is going to love every minute of it!

If it is so great how come there were tickets for every vent left this week? Where did they come from? Probably set aside for the thousands of tourists that never materialize. Be interesting to see if we will have to bus in school kids for free to make the stands look full like they did in Italy last winter Olympics
