OK protesters, nay-sayers, etc. I paid for these Olympics, not you. It's my decision to put my tax dollars towards something that builds country, provincial, and city spirit, and adds to our infrastructure as well as creating real jobs, rather than giving the money to you to paint some useless piece of so-called art that I could easily do half-drunk in my sleep. My guess is that the protesters pay next-to-no tax in first place, so they have no business telling me how my tax dollars should be spent, I give a hell of a lot of money beyond my tax dollars to help people who are truly in need (ie. Haiti), not the local pathetic winers who polute an otherwise beautiful Vancouver. My nice request to protesters regarding the Olymics is STFU and get a real life. The reality is that I will be taking regular breaks from my responsible, tax-contributing job during the Olympics to troll the streets downtown. If you care to be protesting during my travels, all I can say is watch your back! I won't hesitate to make the world a better place.

BTW, if you see John Furlong during the proceedings, bow down and acknowlege a guy who has humbly done a remarkable job. This guy is amazing. Thank you John! and Jack (RIP).

Officials now are bringing in additional snow via helicopter, as well as trucking it in from more than 250 kilometers (150 miles) away.

Hey Morning Star where is the democratic process involved with all taxpayers who are paying for this event? That's fine it is your decision to put your tax dollars towards this event, however the taxpayers across this country are footing the bill were never given the opportunity to vote whether or not this event should have ever taken place. The last I heard we live in a democratic society. I saw no democratic process asking all of those who will end up paying for this event for decades to come. I pay more than my fare share for taxes everyday of the year to this so called democracy but I have very little say as to how those elected spend it. There should have been a Canada wide referendum, plain and simple and not none binding plebiscite that was provided only to residents of Vancouver. Since it was only the constiuents of Vancouver that voted this event all costs of the Olympics should be sent to Vancouver City Hall to pay.

I just got back from a quick tour by Olympic Village and then back downtown over the Burrard bridge. The Cambie bridge was PACKED!!! I have never seen so many people on that bridge. It was awesome! Most of the people were taking picures of Olympic Village and the Australian 'roo. And let me tell you, it totally had an electricity! And such an incredible day too. I'm sure that all the foreign media broadcast some premium footage for back home.

The excitement is palpable. A certain magic is in the air.

Hope everyone is havin' a super day!

Operation Press Record is a rally call for all Vancouver citizens, tourists and others who will be in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics to carry a video camera with them at all times to ensure police stay within the LAW.

Vancouver police are currently out in full swing silencing protesters, harassing and intimidating innocent civilians while using unjust techniques to lock up the homeless population. Vancouver has turned into the definition of a police state with 15,000 security personnel blanketing the city.

The aim is for us, the citizens, to document footage of authorities abusing their power, using violent methods or any other ILLEGAL tactics that go against our human rights.

Please check out www.PressRecord.ca and help spread this PEACEFUL method to bring PEACE.

Olympic Resistance Network: American reporter denied entry into Canada
Apparently 20-year-old Martin Macias Jr. was held at YVR for several hours
Renee Bernard2010/02/07
VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - According to anti-Olympic protesters, an American reporter had been prevented from entering Canada. The Olympic Resistance Network says 20-year-old Martin Macias Jr. had arrived at YVR from Chicago Saturday morning, but was held by Canada Border Services for several hours.

He was then put on a flight back to the U.S. The Network's Chris Shaw can only speculate what triggered the Border personnel's actions. "I suspect the authorities in the states had shared information with authorities here. He was known somehow with someone who held dissenting views on the Olympics and that was enough to get him barred from our country."

Macias is a leading member of 'No Games Chicago', a group which had opposed Chicago's bid for the 2016 games. He hosts a community radio station in Chicago.

Some interesting points about the olympics to all you pro-olympics people out there. How do you sleep at night knowing that so many innocent children and seniors are suffering horribly because of this 2 week "party" for the rich! At a cost of 7 billion or 700 million per day-money that could have amongst many things eliminated child poverty across Canada, helped seniors etc. Its a historical fact that in 1936 adolph hitler ressurected the torch relay to symbolize nazi pride, and its amazing how similar the whole olympic hype parallels almost like a nazi way of thinking where millions are so deluded. Obviolsly Mother Nature doesn't approve. Bring on the Sun!

An Undying Call for Olympic Fanatics?
By Concerned Citizens of Canada

Let your mind be freed from queries. Let your voice be heard everywhere. Aren’t you sick and tired of what’s happening to our surroundings regarding the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics? Lobbying, rallying and boycotts may not be enough to get the attention of the VANOC officials and its elite groups and the greedy and unethical government officials of British Columbia. We have been continuously fooled by these people with their non-reliable and non-existing figures that they used to published in every corners of the mass media.
If you people of Canada are more concern of what will and may happen in the future. On what will and may be the effect to the majority, not only for those people living in the skidrow area of East Vancouver but also for those average families. We are asking you to voluntarily participate in a “MASS CONSCIOUSNESS BRIGADE“, the power of our mind is very effective to use as our weapon to fight this elite group back. The power of intent is a powerful tool to change the weather on 2010. Yes, Vancouver Olympics may happen but if we will join together by using our mind there maybe a huge mass disruption in the outdoor events. We will be having a mild weather in the Whistler area. With these, it will be a great failure to the VANOCs and its allies and a big humiliation to the whole world.
It is effective! This power of the mind has been proved in the year 1998 of July at Northeast of Florida when they were hit by a drought conditions. Upon using the Mass Consciousness they were able to have a downfall of rains. And it was a success!
So people of Canada, let’s give ourselves a chance. We can prove this to everybody. We can make a difference! We can do it!

Hey Operation Press Record! Are you making sure the protesters are also being recorded? We all know they would never do anything wrong would they? Just keep an eye out for the guys wearing the bandannas over their faces and the cinder blocks in their hands.
