"A lot of times people get offended and think I'm picking on them."

Roofcat that is the problem now-a-days! We all need to grow thicker skin and have fun! It's all about the fun and brotherhood/sisterhood, not about the drama... Let it go and have fun hitting or missing balloons! What we do in the arena speaks for itself... get over yourself!

Mike (who loves to hear Roofcat announce)

When I said: "get over yourself!" I was not speaking to Roofcat, I was talking about all of us collectively. I have got to stop posting, post Jim Beam!

Granny, I will be happy to continue to help score the main match and rifle. We have been members of the club for a year and think there are a wonderful bunch of people in the club. Lone Wolf goes above and beyond as president, Sundance, Darcy, Duke and of course Roofcat are great announcers ! All of the members will never be happy about everything that is done, but as long as a majority are happy and having fun then it's a successful club. To change the subject just a tad, there will be a practice opportunity available the second Sunday of the month in the Bell/Trenton area in a covered arena from 12 to 5 pm. Anyone interested can give me a call at 386-497-2160. (I think Rocky Rider would be a terrific addition to the board.)

Alright, I will write down Rocky Rider as a nominee. I also would like to nominate Loco Shooter. Anyone else? We need time to create ballot sheets. Please only accept if you are willing to commit. Thanks

Sundance - I sent in my nomination for Loco Shooter and Lone Dutchman. You should receive it in a couple of days if you haven't already. So please add Lone Dutchman (Terry). Do all members vote or just the board?

Sass awards. In the past we would have a prize pool. These are items donated
for the shoot. Class winners and overall are not eligible for the prize pool. They won the class or overall.
Sass has never given away anybody's Div. or overall award because they are not at the awards.
But Sass used to take the overall Champion of a match and give his division win to next in line.
So if Lone Wolf wins overall and Roofcat is second in his Div. Roofcat would get the Div.win. (Probable the only way Roofcat would get a win with Lone Wolf or the other 4's)

Back when I first started shooting in 2002. Every rider had to do 1 stage of volunteer time at a match. The volunteer coordinator would assign you to a task. These tasks were rotated. So everyone learns the in and outs of putting a match on. It is always easy toss stones at glass house. But when you are in that house you may realize how much is involved in each of these task.

Reading back through the last couple of pages I don't see where anyone was casting stones, unless maybe you mean me. If you, or anyone else, thinks I was casting stones then I apologize profusely for that impression. I have been in the glass house myself so I know firsthand what is involved, and as you know I recently have been in a new place, with new people, in the same sport. From that "new" perspective, my intention was to convey how someone new to the club (for there are many) might feel, and might be recruited to help. I offered a suggestion (and explained the reasoning behind it) that came from my personal experience "in the glass house". Again, if somewhere along the way I cast stones, I apologize.

In the end it would seem that good may come from all of this discussion (although I'm beginning to feel that I'll be stoned at the next event, after I deliver the bar stools of course!). Roofcat suggested a sign up sheet. You mention a volunteer coordinator. I say Hooray for any idea that may be part of the solution!

Sundance, I revised last years nomination forms and have the election ballot ready to fill in the blanks. I will be glad to email a nomination form to anyone and I will also bring them to all future practices and matches so we can get nominations in writting.

In answer to Morning Sun's question...the election of the new Town Council is voted upon by the membership at the annual awards banquet at the State Match in November. The members remaining on the Town Council will be Yellow Woulf (Linda Woulf), Sam Bass (Mike Pranger), Desperado Duke (Duke Reid) and Oklahoma Wildcat (Pam Henry). So far I have the following Outlaws suggested for nomination:

Dakota Darcy (Nina Donle)
LaLoba (Mimi DeBurger)
Loco Shooter (Don Hynds)
Lone Dutchman (Terry Portanga)
Lone Wolf (Chuck McCrary)
Rocky Rider (Sharon Martin)
Zoe James (Darlene Straka)

Those nominated must let Sundance or myself know if they accept or decline their nomination. It's awesome to have such a good group to choose from!!!

Please keep in mind, if you accept nomination - You MUST strive to make ALL events. If in all honesty, you feel you can not put forth the commitment, please decline. Thank you

I would like to nominate ROOFCAT as chief sniveler. In the future if you feel so inclined to snivel, instead of voicing your dismay to one of the folks that are truly interested in pleasing the multitudes, feel free to snivel to the Roofcat. If your complaint is truly worthy I will forward it up the chain of command.
Being a former board member for two different mounted shooting clubs, let me assure you folks it is no picnic.
For your information KID last match class 4 was having a contest to see who could save the club the most money by allowing balloons to be reused and I lost, for my first class win in over a year.

In reading all the messages all are good ideas. Another suggestion: A REALLY BIG help would be to sign-up for matches early. This will take pressure off of Candy and Regina. Candy can't do the go order without knowing who is coming. Regina has to chase people to collect the money and releases. You can pay with a CC now on line and soon you'll only have to sign a release once a year. Coming soon, you'll be able to send your entry form in an E-mail.
