Letter Re: Berlin Marathon
Dear Stephen, My name is Jessica and I am the fundraiser at Heart Care, which is a local cardiac rehabilitation charity here in Walsall. I am running the Berlin marathon to raise money for Heart Care in September this year and am putting together a running team to take with me to Berlin. Could you please let me know whether any of your members would like to join my team? I have 6 available charity places and would really love at least a couple of those places to be taken by local runners. Each charity entrant must agreed to raise and donate a minimum of £300 to Heart Care - the average amount raised per marathon charity place is actually £1,000 so I have no doubt that this benchmark will be well and truly smashed! As you will know, Heart Care is a medical charity which provides cardiac rehabilitaiton and after care to people who have suffered a heart attack, undergone surgical intervention or suffer from other coronary heart conditions. Heart Care offers its patients a unique programme of monitored physical exercise so that patients can return to a normal, active lifestyle. This year, the Berlin marathon falls on World Heart Day, which is fantastic for us. I want to use this opportunity to promote healthy living and regular exercise within Walsall and the West Midlands in general, where levels of child and adult obesity and coronary illness are amongst the highest in the country. Ideally any interested runners will agree to be involved with press and a number of photo opportunities since I am going to promote this to the local press as much as I possibly can! If there is any interest at your club or if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. Kind regards,
Jessica Element Fundraising and Publicity Officer Heart Care, Walsall Cardiac Rehabilitation Trust 12 Portland Street Walsall WS2 8AB Tel: 07875 384705

Won't be able to make it tonight. I fell over at the train station yesterday and bashed my left knee. What an idiot. Need to wait for the swelling to go down so hope to see you next week!

I'm not sure if toady saw your MP3 player Karen. Perhaps Ratty, Moley or Badger did. Well done everyone for your fine efforts in the Tewkesbury runs. Especially to the wee Jock runner.

Jane Do not take more water with it at all. This is negative thinking. Take an even bigger slug in the first place and by the time you notice, it will have healed. Liam
