Stable Staff Automated Email Service
Further to the recent comments being posted to this board, I suspect some of you are simply responding to the email copies you receive. If you are receiving emailed copies, it is because you have either subscribed to Stablestaff as a jobseeker, submitted an application for a job that has been advertised here, advertised yard vacancies or have been looking for staff. The emails are simply copies of what has been posted here, in the forum. This forum was set up, originally, for advertising JOBS. Employers can post vacancies FREE OF CHARGE.
Please take the time to visit the forums at www.racescotuk.com The site was previously run under the name stablestaff.co.uk but has, since, been merged with RaceScotUK. RaceScotUK has also incorporated the .co.uk sites 'Jobs in Racing' and 'Careers in Racing'.
Feel free to post your comments, discuss your interests, seek employments and/or seek staff. From a staff seeking point of view, it may even prove helpful to follow the discussions.
In response to the comments regarding certain members of the racing fraternity, I have seen several sides of racing, I have met many different types of 'horsey' people and yes, there are those who tend to look upon racehorse ownership as some sort of elite 'hobby' - I found it highly amusing, to be honest. BUT, as owners, some may say it is their right, they have earned it by the fact that they can afford to keep racehorses, even when it's a large syndicate. These people pay the wages, they keep the yards running and they fund the trainers who may, or may not, be your employers, past, future or otherwise. Some can also ruin careers. Pandering to their needs is a bit of what racing is about - it certainly isn't pony club for speeding riders nor is it a career for those who can't take orders. If you cannot provide 100% dedication to your yard, horses and trainer (BOSS) then seriously reconsider your career choice. Is racing really where you want to work? It is a complete lifestyle, not a nine to five job.
You can, if you choose, visit this forum and unsubscribe so that you no longer receive the emails. We cannot remove specific email addresses, as we have no access to them. We can, as administrators of the RaceScotUK /Stablestaff websites, delete posts, but have no intention of doing so. I'm too nosy and like to see what others think. Just be aware of the fact that this is a PUBLIC messageboard and, if you have chosen to submit posts using your actual names, everyone can read your coMments, including all the yard owners and trainers who have subscribed. One of them may, one day, be YOUR employer (or not).
Finally, we are working to revamp our racing site and would appreciate your help. Would it be better to open these messageboards up to include all topics relevant to working in racing? Is it better to use them as discussion boards? I would recommend that anyone who decides to take part comes here via the link on www.racescotuk.com and then posts their replies that way. It means you can create a user name and preserve your right to anonymity. PS: We most certainly are not all stuck up, that's for sure! LOL
HAVE FUN, HORSEY FOLKS!
