I am looking for a fulltime job in exercising race horses till March. I have lots of experince with horses and i am a confident rider. I am very commited to working with the thoroughbreds and i put all my effort into making the best out of them and watching them win. I am prepared to work fulltime as a track rider or breaking in thoroughbreds or help keeping them fit for their next races and exercisng them on a daily basis. If you also have any problemed horses that you know have potential but you just dont have the time to work on them, then im all yours to bring out their full potential or get them in an excellent state for their next rider. If you are interested please email me on chicago_gals2003@hotmail.com
Thanks

Stable Staff Automated Email Service

Further to the recent comments being posted to this board, I suspect some of you are simply responding to the email copies you receive. If you are receiving emailed copies, it is because you have either subscribed to Stablestaff as a jobseeker, submitted an application for a job that has been advertised here, advertised yard vacancies or have been looking for staff. The emails are simply copies of what has been posted here, in the forum. This forum was set up, originally, for advertising JOBS. Employers can post vacancies FREE OF CHARGE.

Please take the time to visit the forums at www.racescotuk.com
The site was previously run under the name stablestaff.co.uk but has, since, been merged with RaceScotUK. RaceScotUK has also incorporated the .co.uk sites 'Jobs in Racing' and 'Careers in Racing'.

Feel free to post your comments, discuss your interests, seek employments and/or seek staff. From a staff seeking point of view, it may even prove helpful to follow the discussions.

In response to the comments regarding certain members of the racing fraternity, I have seen several sides of racing, I have met many different types of 'horsey' people and yes, there are those who tend to look upon racehorse ownership as some sort of elite 'hobby' - I found it highly amusing, to be honest. BUT, as owners, some may say it is their right, they have earned it by the fact that they can afford to keep racehorses, even when it's a large syndicate. These people pay the wages, they keep the yards running and they fund the trainers who may, or may not, be your employers, past, future or otherwise. Some can also ruin careers. Pandering to their needs is a bit of what racing is about - it certainly isn't pony club for speeding riders nor is it a career for those who can't take orders. If you cannot provide 100% dedication to your yard, horses and trainer (BOSS) then seriously reconsider your career choice. Is racing really where you want to work? It is a complete lifestyle, not a nine to five job.

You can, if you choose, visit this forum and unsubscribe so that you no longer receive the emails. We cannot remove specific email addresses, as we have no access to them. We can, as administrators of the RaceScotUK /Stablestaff websites, delete posts, but have no intention of doing so. I'm too nosy and like to see what others think. Just be aware of the fact that this is a PUBLIC messageboard and, if you have chosen to submit posts using your actual names, everyone can read your coMments, including all the yard owners and trainers who have subscribed. One of them may, one day, be YOUR employer (or not).

Finally, we are working to revamp our racing site and would appreciate your help. Would it be better to open these messageboards up to include all topics relevant to working in racing? Is it better to use them as discussion boards? I would recommend that anyone who decides to take part comes here via the link on www.racescotuk.com and then posts their replies that way. It means you can create a user name and preserve your right to anonymity.
PS: We most certainly are not all stuck up, that's for sure! LOL

HAVE FUN, HORSEY FOLKS!

This is a brief update from the Stablestaff notice boards in response to the recent posting regarding lack of support within the industry for newcomers graduating through the various training establishments.

If you have completed Foundation Level training to NVQ Level 2 then your training establishment should have provided you with employment when you completed your course. To my knowledge, the British Racing School in Newmarket guarantees all 'graduates' of their foundation course fulltime employment.

For anyone interested in taking up a career with racehorses, please be aware of the fact that ALL young riders MUST undergo registered training. You can apply for FREE training up to the age of 22, rules and conditions can be found for the Newmarket course here http://www.brs.org.uk/Courses/9_Week_Found...e_(NVQ_2)/index.php

To my knowledge, EVERYONE who satisfactoraly completes an apprenticeship to NVQ Level 2 is GUARANTEED employment within racing. If you have attained a Level 1 NVQ, then it I would personally recommend that you continue to Level 2.

Finally, for newcomers to the racing industry, riding racehorses is not like standard riding. This can come as a bit of a shock to anyone coming through pony club and then attempting to apply the aids to a race fit 3 year-old.

i once tried to work in racing, but the support you get from the people who should be helping you (northern racing college) is absolutely shocking. you just get made fun of as i went there a beginner and they make your life a misery. i have probably submited a job application to every yard in the country and i still dont have a job due to my lack of experience. if the college helped me i would probably be enjoying a brilliant racing career now, but with the attitude of the industry i dont think i want to any more.

BRAVEHEARTS CHILDRENS' TRUST APPEAL

Dear Readers, I NEED YOUR HELP!

Firstly, let me apologise that this is not a job offer or, even, relevant to our Stablestaff or careers websites, but it is Children in Need week and NYK Media fundraises every month for such causes.

The user known as 'hypnotoad' on the eBid online auctions has thrown down his gauntlet and challenged me. I have accepted his challenge and the deadline is dawn on 23rd November 2007.

Should I succeed in this challenge, an extra £30 will be donated to Bravehearts Childrens Trust, who grant wishes for sick and dying children.

All that I need of you for my challenge to succeed is to follow this link and VOTE. If you cannot click the link, copy it and paste it into your browser and then go vote, please.

 http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=98218

It will cost you nothing, I only need to raise a minimum of 80 votes in order to succeed and raise this cash, which I will personally make up to £50. I already have 34 votes - I need at least another 47. Voting is completely anonymous and it is a simple one click polling system. I ask you as friends, as neighbours, as associates, as fellow eBid members and as supporters of all that Cyberdosh stands for - the freedom to earn, and spend, as we like.

Thank you.

If you are not a member of eBid, you can join at http://www.cyberdosh.co.uk and then go to the forums, look for the KT (Kitchen Table) and then click on the link that says Poll, Polls, Polls...

Thank you, in advance, to anyone who chooses to support this cause.

NEWS BULLETIN VIA WWW.STABLESTAFF.CO.UK

Is anyone interested in online auctions? What about the retraining of racehorses? Or perhaps you own an ex-racehorse, or support horse charities or work within racing. Whatever your interests or connections, you may like to spread the word about a new fundraising campaign beginning this week in aid of Retraining of Racehorses. As per their official website, "RoR is British Horseracing's official charity for the welfare of former racehorses. It aims to raise funds from the British Racing Industry to help support charitable retraining and rehoming of ex-racehorses and to show how ex-racehorses can flourish in a second career."

Racing Book Shop is now based in Wigtown, which is Scotland's national book town. It is from here that this online bookshop has begun participating in the monthly, fun, fundraising auctions organised by members of the www.eBid.net online auctions. To find out more about what wacky items are available for sale and to see how you, or anyone you know, can help raise funds via this monthly event, check out the website at http://www.racingbookshop.co.uk

I am looking for a job in horse racing. I have worked for Trainers such as Mel Brittain, Henry Candy and Andrew Crook.
I am 5ft 4ins tall and i weigh 7 stone. I can do all aspects of stable duties and i have also lead up horses at race meetings.
I can also ride racehorses where i would say my riding is average.
I love working with horses and i would like to get out my apprentice license.

ARTISTS WANTED

Check out http://www.onlineartexhibition.co.uk

We are looking for artists and craft workers to showcase their work FREE in our online exhibition that begins soon. Take this opportunity to register your details. Why worry about 20% + commission on sales when the online art exhibition costs you nothing to exhibit and eBid charges only 3% commission if and when your work sells. You may even prefer to open your own online gallery, which costs approximately £100 to set up but ZERO to administer, and a MAXIMUM 2% SELLING COMMISSION.

Silver status costs NOTHING but incurs a 3% selling fee
Platinum status costs a single setup fee of £99.99 and then ZERO selling fees.
If you choose to add extra photographs of your work, selling fees are a maximum 2% for platinum status.

Dear all,

These updates are going onto the messageboards at www.stablestaff.co.uk If you are receiving email copies of them all, it's because you registered your email address to receive job information about work with horses.

Recently, a registered jobseeker accidentally responded to the new job listing directly onto the boards, resulting in their application being automatically forwarded to all registered users of the job site. Because this messageboard service is provided free, Stablestaff.co.uk has no access to registered user information and, therefore, cannot control who receives the updates.

If you would prefer not to receive any updates, you can simply visit the messageboards at http://www.stablestaff.co.uk or http://www.jobsinracing.co.uk or http://www.careersinracing.co.uk (for now, all three web addresses lead to the same site) and click on the 'subscribe' button at the top left of the page to change your preferences.

When you register with Stablestaff.co.uk the job news bulletin service automatically defaults to send all.

If you are still happy to receive news updates pertaining to working within the racing industry or with horses/animals in general, then please remember that by replying to the email updates, your emails will post straight on to the messageboards.

I hope this helps,

Susan
