Mea culpa (yeah, it's true) - I am finding the Apple firewall hard to penetrate!

The trouble is, I talk to people in the networks. People from companies like O2 and Vodafone and the rest are perhaps too close to the subject - they get access to stuff which Apple may - or may not - eventually launch.

See this analysis of why the keyboard-equipped iPhone hasn't appeared - and may not:
Observers who were forecasting a "proper keyboard" iPhone for June 2009 are giving Apple one last chance to announce a corporate version of its mold-breaking mobile. Tonight, it almost certainly won't appear. That, say analysts, might mean that Apple has given up on the mainstream corporate market.
