Union Puppets  1400
05-25-2009 08:19 PM ET (US)
You need to look at the teachers' contract put together with the help of the union puppets. Take a look at www.seethroughny.com.

"The President of the Association shall: ...continue to receive full pay and to accrue all benefits, including seniority."

Let's hope Lou and Joe can do a better job negotiating the next contract! This one expires June 2010. Other districts don't have this nonsense in their teachers' contracts.

Congratulations Lou and Joe. Good job. We finally have someone on the board that will look after the children and the tax payers. The union and concerned parents can afford to look after themselves.

CONGRATULATIONS LOU AND JOE!!!

Finally, two less union puppets on the board. There is hope!

Bravo to the community for its great choice in board members and for voting down the transportation proposition and its additional tax increase.

The East Islip Teachers Association is busy once again phoning community members regarding the vote.

Quite a few people are reporting that the conversation begins with the caller identifying themselves as a "volunteer" and reminding the callee to vote next week and to vote for Joyce Cattani and Gary Lamm who are Pro-Education. (Apparently that is code for Pro-Union.)

When the volunteer was asked which group she represents, the volunteer replied the Board of Education. The callee then asked if the BOE was endorsing candidates to which the volunteer now replied no. When asked again which group the volunteer was representing, the answer was Concerned Parents. We all know by now that Concerned Parents is a front group for the EI Teachers Association.

When another friend received a similar phone call, she stated to the volunteer that she had heard Joyce and Gary were fronts for the union. The volunteer hung up on my friend.

Yet another friend responded to the volunteer in a similar fashion and questioned Joyce Cattani and Gary Lamm being backed by the East Islip Teachers Association. This friend, too, was hung up on.

So people of East Islip, Islip Terrace, and Great River be aware when answering the phone. Make a note of the phone number, the day, and the time of the phone call. Be sure to ask the volunteer which group is being represented. You all should be highly insulted because the EITA and Concerned Parents think you are so stupid that you'll fall for their phone call trick again. Show them that they are the stupid ones!

For those of you who forgot. Concerned Parents President, Patrick Flamio was photographed tearing down signs of a school board candidate whose policies he did not support. Is this the type of person who we want to support his candidates with our vote? I'd say not. Mr. Naccarato's wife is the Princple of the Ruth C. Kinney elementary school. Do we want someone on the board who's going to decide how much of a pay raise his wife is going to get? I'd say not.

I received a post-card from the East Islip Teachers' Association as follows:

May 19th is the day to show support for our schools by voting YES on the budget and electing pro-education Board of Education candidates JOYCE Cattani and Gary Lamm.

With support from NYSUT members like you, we've made great progress helping East Islip's children succeed. Now we must maintain this great school district and its high standards.

Show pride in East Islip's excellent public schools by voting YES for Joyce Cattani and Gary Lamm on May 19th.

Your support does matter!

In Solidarity,
East Islip Teachers' Association

They should have said union candidates, not pro-education candidates. I for one as a member of the NYSUT will be voting NO...for the budget and for Lou and Joe. I hope other NYSUT members will also do the same.

Don't vote for Joyce Cattani. She lied at meet the candidate night. She told the community she is not backed by any group. Mean while she is a member of Concerned Parents and she is directly backed by the East Islip Teachers Association.

Remember, the teachers' contract is up in 2010. They want every tiny concession they made last time back ten fold. Joyce is just another union puppet like Cronin, Phillips, Lyons, Lamm, and Reed!!

How come the BAC report is not on the district website? Are they that embarrassed by the committees findings? They have changed the rules of participation and even threw a few ringers onto the BAC to try and keep them in line. They don't give a rats arse what the community thinks.

Say no to the school board and budget. Until they trim some staff in administration, [i.e. Becker-Santa, 3 AP's in the high school] Funny how they don't listen to Budget Advisory Committe's recommendations.

Why does the following appear when The East Islip Teachers Association is Googled?

East Islip Teacher Association Inc - ringler-associates.com - (631) 277-1990 - More
http://ringler-associates.com/

What happened to their website?

Could it be that they are hiding in the hopes that we can't trace the phone calls we'll soon be getting back to them?

Funny how this "Ringler Associates" is in the same building!
