Hello my people! For the Postal Service to remain viable it will be necessary to negotiate a new contract with a few sacrifices from our craft. A good start would be to accept a reduction in pay to one dollar an hour above the current pay of TRC's and to accept a lay-off provision if management deems it necessary for the survival of an office...Note- this will be accomplished at the local level with station managers deciding what routes need consolidating. We will DEMAND a 30 days notice of any route consolidations so the affected parties will have time to find other work if need be. I will gladly entertain any alternative proposals from the workers who visit this board. Keep up the good work and remember if we all try a little harder and will do our part this great institution will rebound and remain strong for many years to come. Your leadership will always be here for you, but you must be willing to follow. We have your best interests at heart. Carry on!

It's best for the Aux. Route RCA to take the 5/1 assignment and still sub for a regular route instead of taking the 6 day assignment. That way if this were to happen then at least they would still have a job.

TRC's only make like $13.00 an hour! THIS WON'T HAPPEN! That would be way too much of a pay reduction! NO we don't need locals deciding on route consolidations. That would be a major conflict of interest by robbing Peter to pay Paul, (the good 'ol boy system.) Leave it up to the districts and also let the carriers decide if they want to bust their ba**s for a just few more bucks. I'll bet most won't want the extra work, nor could they even handle it!

I VOLUNTEER TO TAKE A DOLLAR AN HOUR LESS THAN OUR POSTMASTER.

I and the rest of the executive commitee have VOLUNTARILY agreed to only a small cost of living adjustment in our salaries next year. We all must try to live within our means if we as a team are going to succeed in bringing this great organization back from the brink. 13 dollars an hour is not bad pay considering the work you do. We in Washington have made MANY sacrifices for you, its only right that you, the working class, should make some sacrifices as well. On a personal note, when I was running my route, I would volunteer for extra duties in the afternoon just to help out. We didnt have it easy back then the way you do now. We had no LLV's or DPS, it was all intense casework. Some days I would sort and deliver upwards of 900 pieces of mail IN ONE DAY! It would take hours to deliver it from a car and the route was very long, almost 33 miles. So whenever you think you have it bad, just stop and think how your national officers have paved the way for you with our blood sweat and tears. You should be grateful for our great service and leadership. Now lets get to it and have fun with it! Carry on!

I hate that the volume is down, today I only had 4 stuffed trays of DPS (about 2500 letters) and only 7 tubs of flats. Then I only had 3 certs and one express, also only 27 dismounts for parcels too big to fit mailbox. What a light day!

kudos to SUPERsub /m38689 I agree with Rayt-333 that statement it totally wrong. It is my understanding that they can only hire enough RCA's to cover the Regular routes. SO with the carrier being on an AUX there would be a Regular route with no sub or just an TRC and that TRC would be the one to lose their job. ART 30.2.G.1.B

/m38707 hey guys...it DOES happen...Sometimes they "forget" they have to allow the aux sub a fall back route...there is a office close to me..with 1 reg route and an aux...and they have 2 RCAs....that IS NOT the way its supposed to be. SO if they decide to get that aux route also..ONE of those subs is going to be out a job..In this case..it would be the lesser sub..since the senior RCA chose NOT to take the aux...(smart sub!)

I just wanted to tell everyone, I read a postal memo this week that Congress is not going to even consider letting the postal service go to a five day a week delivery right now.

$13.00 dollars an hour is NOT worth all the BS we have to put up with! Management BS, vehicle maintenance and breakdowns, winter weather driving, etc... You are such an a$$ for even coming on here and saying that! Go back to your management board.

I agree with Ray. Our volume has been through the roof this week! More flats, more letters and accountables than usual, and management refuses to acknowledge it.

SuperSub, The way that RCA at the 2 route office could've made the most money is to do both the aux route AND be the primary sub for the regular route. Then they could have hired a TRC to be a sub for the Aux. Route.

Heres a suggestion. Have clerks case and bundle mail so its ready for the carriers when they arrive at 11am. That gives carriers 3-5 hours to deliver the mail. After all casing the mail is not carrying the mail and a carrier, suggested by its very name, shouldnt be casing the mail anyway.
